ash tray mod - finally using the space
#21

Rant all you want. If 1/2 the people I deal with took customer service the way you we would all be much better off.

I copied this mod and love it - use it every day for the phone. I hooked up a black iphone adapter, routed it through the cassette tray and it works great.

Talking about storage space - when I get to it I'll post on a neat trick that happened in SF. The glove box cylinder exploded on the key - came right out of the hole and dropped the tumbler things and threw a bunch of springs. Took us 30 minutes to find all of that s*** on the floor. I think I got it all though so we can put it back together. And of course the box is locked shut.....

I don't know about this customer service you talk about. Perhaps the ethics comment had some validity! I mean really it took three rings before Bob picked up his phone late afternoon to help me! Why did it take so long and why was he able to parse out the answer for my problem after two questions? I'm sure most would agree that the phone should have only had to ring once and I should have only had to have been asked one question to get my answer. I mean really 30 seconds to get an answer and you call this customer service! Lol

I know right?! And he only called me five times about a problem I'm having that has nothing to do with his products or services, on the night of his anniversary. Seriously, putting his marriage before a stranger all the way across the continent?

Sounds to me like a class action lawsuit in the offing.

roflmao - funny stuff guys - thanks

i don't know who that guy is, or where he gets his info. all i can assume is that he must have fallen through a crack, though that sounds impossible because it sounds like his head is stuck there. pretty cheap shot to publicly call my ethics into question with no personal experience at all.

i see ignorant stuff all the time though. we got an application for membership from a san diego shop owner, who got pissed off that he had to go through the steps to gain access, told me our site sucked, and to remove him, using some colorful expletives along the way. recently he has been asking members to promote an event at his shop. "your site sucks, but can you help my business by promoting my shop on it?" nice!

back on topic - again

the only thing about the ashtray mod i don't like is that the cable sticks out and is unsightly. i wish they made a right angle connector for that, but then i'd still have a problem because the power pins got switched from the iphone 2 to the 3 and require an adaptor to flip them back, so it would stick out anyway.

wow - i'm really anal

Bob really does call. I was on a jobsite and answered my phone and it was Bob, he wanted to know how the D1SC kit was holding up. I told him I did not install it yet but planned to install in the near future. You just dont get service like this anymore! Keep up the great work you do for such a rare and fantastic Porsche.

Bob was very helpful with my D1R SC breaking-in period as well. I'd always trust him. He helped me diagnose a simple SIMPLE problem from 2225 miles away that my mechanic couldn't.... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

OCD, anal and exacting. These are compliments mind you. When I installed the strut tower brace it didn't match the picture upon completion. So I called Bob. While he didn't answer the phone immediately, he was outside playing, I received a phone call within 15 minutes. Two questions later and bingo, solution. Can you say customer service?
