way back when i was first looking for my first 968 i almost bought a 92 cab in this very odd color. it does not show up on the database that jeff has. it was definitely original paint, as i carefully inspected that, looking closely for damage or accident history.

the car is a 6 speed, with black top and black interior, no lsd, CD changer, and i think a factory phone.

i think i might like to locate this car now.

here is what i am almost certain is the color:

Wait a minute. Your going to buy another 968? Where in your garage will you fit that. Park around back? Lol
no idea, but as it is certainly a rare beast, and not one of the "barbie" colors, i just might like to have it. i couldn't quite get my head around the color, but at the time i had no idea how rare it was. it only had 38k on it when i saw it 9 years ago. so, it's may not be too terribly high now. might be worth having. who knows?
Well, you've mentioned the blue car is in need of a respray...!
lol- i'm not looking to change color. acquiring a car that is not on the database is another story. there are probably about 30 of them, from what i have been able to find so far. it would be kind of cool.
don't drive it on sunny days, the reflection will blind everyone within a mile radius of your car . that said, it's actually not bad, IMHO

of course, not nearly as bright as those new MIRROR-silver paint Fisker and a couple of other high-end cars have produced in the last year or two. they should be banned, too much of a distraction to everyone else on the road
Thank is a NICE color! In a cab it would look even better!

What is is called? It probably should have something with "copper" in it!
you're welcome for the inspriration
lol - i had found it before in the color book, but could not find a shot of it on a 968 - thanks for that though
I apologise in advance if this non-PC story offends anybody, but on a Top Gear interview some years ago one of Jeremy Clarkson's guests described this colour as "Jewish Racing Gold".

[He was referring to his Maybach!]
lol

i think it is copper metallic - code L95F
That certainly became vogue about two/three years ago - lots of copper-colored cars at the dealerships then.
I like the color myself. Think I can overpaint my Amazon green car with it?
Wait a minute - Flash considering buying a coupe? Let me check the calendar - nope it's not April 1. So the only explanation must be that the earth has shifted on its axis. Oh nooooo!!!!!!! We're all gonna die!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting how things work sometime...

I had not paid attention or really noticed any "copper" colored cars lately. Then as I am driving around yesterday after reading about the color here, I see a Nissan Murano in "copper" and then I see a Dodoge Viper (convertible) sitting at the lights in a LOUD "copper" color. It was SCREAMING: "Look at ME!!!"

I have to admit, that most Vipers really don't "turn my crank", but this one was a real "looker".
I've seen this color on other Porsche models. A 944 and a Carrera coupe of the same vintage that the 968 Cabrio Flash was looking at. I think it is a great color, very unusual. I assume that one could order a 968 in any color that was in Porsche's palate if you were willing to pay extra for it.

+ 1 on the Murano observation - the majority of the Muranos I have seen were copper.

Nope, in the original post he shows a coupe, but he's talking about a cab with a black top.
Ah, yes, I didn't catch that. I'm gonna live!! I'm gonna live!!!
I might end up painting my aventurine green one in this copper color. I've been struggling with the idea for a while and just can't make up my mind if it's worth it or not ; the car is parked outside so it gets filthy very quickly and it's a hassle to keep it clean & shiny all the time. But even with the best detailing job this color still bores me to tears.. ( pity for a car with such beautiful, classic lines to have a rather blah color which does nothing to showcase those lines ) IMHO . Then again, spending a hefty sum to paint it in a more attractive color will then force me to keep it clean all the time so it may become even a greater hassle . At least now I don't care all that much about the dust and pollen, and all that stuff that piles on, so I wash it maybe once a week and I can easily live with that . Not so easy to maintain if I want that brilliant copper paint to shine ! Sigh...dilemmas, dilemmas, lol...
