Just bought last week a 95 coupe, manual, overall good condition with a central locking malfunction that has the local dealer stumped. The mechanic is well versed in 944/968 but has never seen a problem like this. The doors cannot be locked with the key from the outside and the central locking switch is also dead. All fuses and relays check out and he is getting electrical power throughout. He said there is a 5-pin plug in the door panels and he does not have the 968 wiring diagrams he needs. He cannot disable the central locking to make it manual since it is tied in to the central alarm system. He will get the wiring diagrams from Porsche, but do any of you know of a possible solution?
had the same problem when i baught mine and all it was was the fuse on the
alarm brain its covered up with a small cover beleive its a 20 amp. good luck

As a work-around I'd unplug the micro-switches in the door for manual operation. Without looking at the schematic, hopefully the harness for the C/L is separate from the window and speaker cabling.
If the the control unit did blow a fuse, perhaps check the cabling for a pinched wire or burned components on the controler itself.

Gawd I hope you're right! This problem has had me stumped for weeks now. The 1991 944 cars have the same set up and my system keeps blowing fuse #8.
Didn't think to check for another fuse on the Central Locking / Alarm brain itself. Hopefully this will solve it.

To make my life easier, had the Porsche dealer disable CL and now I lock/unlock manually. Good luck.

OK, here's what was going on with my 951 cab.
A few months ago, the car began behaving erratically due to what I thought (rightfully) was an electrical issue. After replacing the TPS, ISV, etc., the car still ran badly and we went through endless trials and tribulations until replacing the DME control unit itself, which solved the problem.
Along the way, the car spent some time in a shop that tested lots of stuff and probably pulled some relays in the fuse box.
On the 944 cabrio, there's a turquoise blue relay in the G21 position that has a 941 reference and is specifically for the electric top mechanism. Two positions in front of that relay (position G19, I think), there's another relay (also turquoise blue) with a 928 reference that's for the central locking and alarm systems.
Since I have two cabs, I started substituting these relays from the S2 to the Turbo and noticed they were reversed! The shop had probably confused them, since they're both identical except for the reference numbers.
Switched the positions, putting the 928 relay in the G19 position and the 941 relay in the G21 position, and both the central locking and electric top mechanisms became fully operative again.
Now while you may not have switched relays, you may want to check the relay in position G19 and see if it's in working condition before checking the central locking control unit itself.
If you have a cabrio and the electric top mechanism is inoperative, you may want to check the 941 relay in position G21.
