Anybody here from Greenville, NC
#1

My wife and I are considering relocating to Greenville, NC. Looking to see if anyone here is in the area and also any good mechanics or shops to recommend?

Can't help with a Mechanic, I'm a bit south of there, but your new local PCA region would be a good start for local info. http://hur.pca.org/

One bright spot in the Greenville area is dcauto, the used Porsche parts mega-warehouse, located in Rocky Mount. You might call Rob the owner and ask him the same question.

To be honest though, Greenville is a bit off the beaten path, Porsche-wise. No dealership - or significant used foreign car dealer or trusted mechanic that I know of. We don't have much membership in the area either. Most of Hurricane Region membership is centered either in Raleigh or the New Bern-to-Wilmington coastal area.

Talking to my shop here in Raleigh, European Performance, the counterguy who just came from dcauto tells me that many owners in that area bring their cars (or truck them) to EP or to Leith Porsche in Cary for service and repair. On the plus side, EP is very good, and thier 968 experience is strong and growing.

Good luck!

Yes, I agree with Ralph. European Performance is excellent. Their knowledge of the 968 is growing because mine is in there right now with a blown head gasket. They are doing a valve job and timing/balance shaft belts and rollers, water pump. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Not to much there but the Army base. The dealership there is pretty good, the Myrtle Beach group usually take there cars up there for dealer work.

I ended up going with this shop in Charleston, SC. FANTASTIC work. did my D1RSC install, and they handle tons of cars each week that are worth 15x our cars. Owner used to race (and win) with 944. European Road and Racing (www.europeanroadandracing.com)
