Another SUV
#1

Lamborghini unveils the " Urus " ( 'cause they could not come up with a dumber name..) How about the " Uglyus " ?

That aside, one fundamental question : why bother to make another SUV ?!

Quote:the Urus, just unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, is a 600 horsepower "crossover" with huge 24-inch wheels and a 600 horsepower engine.

Wow, really? A 600 horsepower car with a 600 horsepower engine?

Wow! That is UGLY! It may GO(!), but still UGLY!

I really do not like the current slate fo crossovers with the "tapered" down rear section.

Not BMW, not Honda, not Cadillac, NONE of them...

Here's me with Lamborghini's *other* SUV, the LM002. This was on the day I bought my 968 at Darryl's, on the last "Detailing Day".

They really should have taken inspiration from this instead of working off the side profile of the Acura ZDX.

I guess you haven't seen The Dark Knight yet. That car is the most recent Batmobile.

Blau - agree completely - I thought immediately of the Honda Crosstour.

You get the best of all possible worlds. The visibility of a sports car, the fuel mileage and handling of a truck, the cost of a luxury car, the interior space of a 4-seat sedan. Ah, huh?

Cross over my arse. Just plain dumb.

On the topic of Lamborghinis and just plain dumb...following a tip re various other stolen goods stored in a warehouse, police just discovered the yellow Lamborghini stolen over one years ago from a celebrity chef who lives here in the Bay Area.. It was in perfect shape ( hmm, I guess sitting untouched in a warehouse all this time helps ;-) ) . Wonder what the thief, who was caught btw, was planning to do with a yellow Lamborghini ?? It's not as if you can sell the parts at a swap meet, and it's not as if you could drive down to Mexico , INCOSPICUOUSLY , the way, to cross the border and sell it there . Brief joy rides, in the evening, on some remote canyon roads would be the only use for that car to a thief. He did not even that, lol.

Haven't you ever seen Gone in 60 Seconds? I would think that most of the exotic stolen cars end up being exported, not much chance of getting away with them driving in the US...

Maybe he was holding on to it waiting for the heat to cool down enough to export it unsuspiciously?

There are two of those in this area, of maybe a dozen in this entire country. They are both red, but completely different....one is super nice and the one that tamathumper is posing with actually gets used and abused. Somewhere, I think I have a pic of the two of them side by side when they were at my buddy Josh's shop simultaneously.

There was one at cars n coffee irvine about a year and a half ago. It stalled about 4 times on the way out of the lot, but it sure did sound great while it was running/revving!

Ive always been a fan of the rambo lambo. Side by side pics would be cool. Wonder how well it holds up when used properly off road.

TO the original thread I think you are harsh, as far as SUV's go that is a ton better looking than a Cayenne Turbo. Sadly the Lambo would be a mere 800,000 here in Australia. I don't really get the idea of a big HP SUV. To me a nice diesel one pulling a Formula Ford on a trailer and 968CS in the garage next to it makes the most sense to me.
