Removal of cab top (rear part)
#1

Need some technical advice here. My 968 cab is at the painter's for a body respray. Does anyone know how the rear part of the cabrio roof (where the Tenex fasteners are attached) can be raised sufficiently to allow proper access for repainting? Thanks in advance.

Im referring to this part outlined in red. Need to detach it from the body to allow proper access for painting.

Sorry, no idea.  But I do remember the old days of this forum when Flash would consistently explain that the top is an incredible bear to deal with.  IIRC, it was the single feature of this car that he wouldn’t touch and would farm out to a pro top person.

Thanks Bill. I managed to locate a factory manual online that describes in detail the required steps (hopefully sufficient) to do this.
