Perhaps  you might consider giving your engine to Pete and let him build you a race engine. If you are going to get wet you might as well get soaked! Of course some just like to get their little toe wet.

Nah, people buy half million $ Ferraris and Lamborghinis and still modify them with aftermarket performance stuff. Makes one scratch their head and wonder why. I'm on a Maserati forum and you'd be surprised how many folks add mods to those as well, in spite of simultaneously insisting that it's as close to perfection as can be, just as it was made by the factory. Lol, don't we say that about the 968 ?! Not the wrong car by any means, but a slight effort to bring it closer to its potential best, considering Porsche ( in spite or available technology ) chose not to do that from the get-go.
