I'm looking into redoing my seats. I'm leaning towards retaining the stock recipe of leather fronts with vinyl back and sides. I'm considering leatherseats.com. Anyone have experience with them? Anyone else to recommend? Suggestions and tips appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you, my drivers side seat upholstery is shot. I also have a few headliner issues, on of which I tired to fix yesterday to no avail. There are some good auto upholstery shops in our area so there might be some good advice on what to do. The only advantage of the half leather seats that I can see is cost. My 944 had sports seats which were full leather and I never had any issues with the sides or back of the seats. Just the same wear and tear on the bolsters from getting in and out of the car.

I looked into Classic 9 Leather Shop and Paul Champagne leather shops. They do great work but they are a bit more expensive. I may spend a little more and get a set of Recaros instead when my seats go.

I got a chance to meet Robert Budd of Classic 9 last October when I hosted the 16th annual 928 Frenzy. He came in as a vendor and his work is very nice. He has a pretty good wait too.
I've got two or three places around here that I would trust to do a nice job and it's about 1500.00 per pair, give or take, and depends on the seat and material. Over the summer, I hope to have my heated sport seats done in light gray, so we'll see how much that bill is.

Cosimo - how much? I was thinking of using them, but haven't gotten an estimate.

Leatherseats.com quoted me around $700 for both seat covers, leather front/vinyl sides and back (just like my OEM). It might be a little more with some options (piping or stitching - perforations, etc.). Then I'll have to get my local guy to do the install. I spoke with the leatherseats.com guy about trying to install myself. He said that over the years the original seats and foam will shrink up to 1/2 inch. A good upholstery shop will steam the foam to get it to expand back to original size and replace any of the foam that needs it. They are sending me some samples to get the color right. Being that I have a cab, I think the leather/vinyl combo might be preferable to all leather since it's going to see a lot of sun.
