A new Aussie to the Forum
#1

Hi, I guess this will be my first post. Very Happy 968CS owner, I guess as a rookie to the forum I will need to earn some stripes before I can put pictures or the like up.

I will have a few questions on parts in coming weeks. Like how do I replace the Recaro seat cover on driver's side which is finally worn through.

Love my car, previously had a 944S2 15 years back and decided it was time to own a CS, having had a 911 convertible as well.

I now use it as a daily driver having sold my Audi S6 which cost a bomb to run.

I may own the rarest 968CS in the world it has NEVER seen a track, owned by an elderly gent for 13 years and I don't have the heart to break that run, I do enjoy it on the road, legally of course.

My wife forced me on to the forum, she thinks I have become addicted to watches on the Rolex forum, so she thinks I will be safer on a Porsche forum where I already own one!!!!!!! Buying her a 996 Targa soon, which I will be the main driver. SO that should be fun as well, but wont match the raw fun of the clubbie.

Welcome,

I'm afraid if your wife thinks you'll save money by being here she might be in for a shock. With a broad selection of modifications, and constant reminders about maintenance the cost of your 968 could equal a Rolex in no time at all...it is a wonder, slippery slope...

Yes, you need a few posts before you are a full fledged member, but it is worth it when you get to know the community.

Enjoy the site,

Jay

Be sure to have the 996 checked for IMS upgrade. This a known and expensive repair.

Welcome to another Aussie. You will eventually have to break the no-track status of your car, it is where the 968 really shines.

Look in the "Lifestyles" section, there is a watch section! Cars AND watches, your set now. The best part, she forced you here!

Welcome, lots of good knowledge here in the collective.
