A 968 in competition ( France )
#1

<img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Hi from France.

This video shows a race in the french countryside, with a superb 968. A highly modified model ( 280HP extracted from the 3L, no turbo ) for competition.

We call this kind of race a "Rallye", maybe you have heard of it, it takes place on open road. There is one competitor at the time ( 1 pilot and 1 copilot ), and the winner is the one who races in the shortest time on a determined route.

It's very popular in Europe.

I'm not a competition car specialist, so have a look on the photos with your expert eyes !

The exact specifications of the engine are not very clear, and the engine itself isn't shown. If my translation is correct, the description says :

Nice Porsche 968 CS Maxi Gr GT . ( so it's derived from a 968 Club Sport, a variant sold in some european countries, including Germany and France, which was lightened and equipped with specific parts for racing )

Numerous victories in GT group ( a category )

Perfect for the race track, rallye, endurance, course de cote = a kind of race which takes place in the montains )

Passeport technique = ? ( maybe a technical document ), SODEMO 280 HP engine ( what's this ? a marque ? ) , pont court = short differential, hydraulic hand brake.

new brakes, new bilstein schock absorbers.

Lots of spare parts included.

New security hoop. Siège baquet porsche = bucket seats

1 engine + 1 gearbox

16 weels ( ?????), set of polycarbonate parts (wings, doors, , etc …)

1 full leather interior ( original ) in extra

Many body parts ( original ) in extra ( we guess it's the original parts )

More than 25000 € = the amount of extra bills for modif.

Paint at your choice on demand + 1000 €

1 euro is equivalent to 1.3 dollar

I don't know if the "SODEMO 280 HP" engine is a Porsche one. Beside, the owner provides another engine. Nothing is said about the exhaust.
