968 Tow Vehicle
#1

Ok, Ok, I know it is not a 968, but it could tow one to the track with ease!

I am selling my '91 Chevy K2500. GMC grill, 163K miles. 7.4L V8, Auto, 4x4, shell, New paint in '03, Boyds alloys, Sport Seats! Reliable as a refrigerator, and cold as one too with the AC charged with HC refrigerant! $6500

Location: Huntington Beach, California

Here is my Auto Trader AD

Dave, I am curious what kind of gas mileage that thing gets?

Probably not much worse than my little Dakota though.

Probably better than the Dakota (i'm on my 3rd). Dodge is not known for mpg.

Gas mileage? If you have to ask, you can't afford it

8-10 in the city 13-14 freeway.

Interesting you should mention color Eric because I painted my splitter with some left over Chevy Truck white - perfect match!

The fuel mileage on my 4800 pound AWD 4.7L Dakota is slightly better at 15 - 16 city and 16 - 20 highway.

Dave's truck would make an excellent tow vehicle!

Same as mine Bruce. I guess it's only the newer Full size chevys and fords that beat my Dakota.

Sold! To a local - , apparently going to tow a bunch of 2X4's from Home Depot and not a 968 to the track

Congrats! Did you go diesel this time?

This is my 968, 2x4 and currently sound equipment hauler.

A friend with a F250 diesel is averaging 23 MPG and it is about twice the size of my Dakota.

Dang Bruce, winter sure does come early in Arkansas!

No I didn't go diesel, 6.0 Vortec small block. The diesel option adds another 6K to the price and recouping that in fuel savings would take many, many miles. That and diesel is easily 20 to 30 cents more expensive than gasoline now. Fuel saving math is not my strong suit. That and several other factors:

Diesels are scarce considering that everyone is snapping them up before the employee discount ends on the 30th.

I like to ply the back country of CA and Mexico on occasion and gas is easier to find. Especially in Baja Mexico where you have to sometimes buy it from a guy who siphons it out of 55 gallon drums in the back of his pickup. We are takling serious back country!
