968 Wallpaper
#1

kramermic's post brought to mind, again, the fact that I have not found a lot of great wallpaper for 968's. Personally I think the car is VERY cool (kinda why I have one) - and don't mind seeing how lucky I am on my computer screen everyday.

Any ideas on good 1024 x 764 (or much better) high resolution archive of wallpaper?

I would be happy to host such an archive on my own site too...

There was a calendar with 968's for this year on this site. It would make a cool background that could be changed each month.

If you want it I can see if it is still on my drive. Porsche made it go away from the original site.

I don't mean to start any feud here but the wallpaper on 968.net is great. It has sounds and Tom Cruise's statement "There is no substitute" when you sign on. It has a front view of a coupe and a side view of a cab. Try it.

I have to find the bigger version (had him send me a larger one), but I like this one a lot:

I just re-formatted my photo album. Some good shots there where the pictures are 1024 wide. You have to back hack the link to the slides folder to copy them though. The album software doesn't allow it for some reason.

It wouldn't allow it as backing into an index directory is something you wouldn't want people to do (though yes - you can do it).

VERY nice pics - thanks for sharing them - whoever has this car is very lucky. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Greimann, I wish you wouldn't show pics of your BEAUTIFUL white 968...it makes my black one look bad. I can only withstand so much temptation.

Thanks Harvey, but it IS the same as your car. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Actually I don't even have a car - am just a wizard with Photoshop <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

All seriousness aside, it goes to show how important a good photograph is when representing a car, especially if it is for sale. A good photograph is just as important as a good wash and wax. Take some time and scout out a location. Use different camera angles other than standing upright. The dog's eye view adds some drama as does standing on a ladder. Snap hundreds of frames and use the best 3. For my photo page I must have shot 500 pictures total (gotta love digital). Moving just a few inches - snap - move a few inches - snap-. And always have the front wheels pointed at the photographer, not the tire.

here's an idea, we can make a 968forums calander of members' cars. We just need someone to compile and choose the pictures and then take them to Kinko's.

1 2 3 not it

Hi Chris,

Great pictures and car. I noticed the small chin cap on the front of your car. Is that a stock piece? I tried a chin spoiler but, due to the low clearance in the front, it didn't last long. The cap on your car gives the front a nice finished appearance.
