For those who can afford to pay USD $56K for a 968, the cost of bringing in water by private truck would be irrelevant.

Most apartment blocks and larger houses in Brazilian cities have a cistern that is replenished by tank truck. It is a booming business in those cities. Same goes for generators. Those that can afford it, do not rely on public supply of water, electricity, medical services, education, etc. Just a different way of life...

I hope the gent gets that kind of money for his car. Nothing to do with the car, but Sao Paolo running out of water.

Before my grandparents got city water they had a cistern that was filled from rain water collected from the roof runoff. My mother told me they boiled all their drinking / cooking water first before using any. I guess they were used to it as my grandfather was born in 1864. If things go south here in the states we may all go right back to the ways of old. Save up your candles folks.

I know this car.  56k is actually a good deal for that car.  Long story short to get used cars into Brazil they have to be 30+yrs old.  Shipping and import taxes are roughly 40-50k to get it on the road.  This one was purchased new in Brazil and is one of a handful of cars in that very big country.  FWIW everything imported is 2-3X what we pay for it here.
