47,000 Mile Coupe on BAT & eBay
#1

We see a lot of nice 968's, so not sure why this one made it on BAT but it is nice when our cars get some recognition. Bidding is doing very well. It will be interesting to see what it sells for with four days of bidding to go. I know we have quite a few members in Portland. Anybody know this car?

Bidding is up to $17,100.   Some of the BAT comments discounted the grey/grey, I happen to think it looks really good in those colors.

That interior is "cream" and grey not grey and grey. I have never heard of that combo on a 968 and wonder if it was sprayed that color??

This was a standard interior color combo at the time.

Seller has bad feedback as well..I would avoid it..

I wonder why the car has California plates, always serviced in California, but is being offered for sale in Portland OR. I live in Portland but have never seen this car anywhere.

Moved to Oregon ? Or, Oregon's no sales tax advantage to the buyer, thus seller thinking the car is more marketable ? Just a thought ...but that would probably make more sense if the car's value was higher so the tax savings would be significant, although I suppose it's all relative and someone buying a car for $ 15 k might feel another $ 1,400 charge for tax in Ca is too big of an additional burden . Of course, the buyer needs to be either an Oregonian, or someone from Ca who plans to register the car in Oregon, keep it parked there for however long the minimum time threshold is ( six months ? ) and then bring it back to his / her state. Sounds like a lot of hassle just to buy a 968 though.. A used car at $ 60 k or $ 70 k however might be an incentive to do something like that. Hey, anyone interested in Flash's car ? I'm sure williamoss has an extra spot in the garage for six months..LOL .

Minimum in Oregon is two years not 6 months. Hardly have room for one 968. I just came back from Cars and Coffee and spoke to my old mechanic who worked on 924's 928,s 944's  from 1980 and 968's up to his retirement one year ago. He said he never saw a grey 968 anywhere in Portland area in all those years. I moved here in 1996 and I never saw one either? I also checked with my new mechanic and he said the same thing.
