968 clear turn signal
#1

Hi guys,

New to this forum, not so to these kind of boards, but i just purchased a 968 and among other replacements i'm looking for clear turn signal lenses (front). Does anyone know of their existence ? I've looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find them. TIA

Technically, clear lenses for the 968 don't exist. Folks have installed other lenses (996, I believe, but I'm not sure) but the fit is only fair. There are Euro amber lenses available that include removing the rubber bumpers - and, in most opinions, improve the look of the front end.

That is to say (forgive me, Anchorman), since no clear lenses are available which fit our cars (993 lenses: close but no cigar IMHO), you might want to consider the european lens assembly, which omits the tiny rubber bumper US cars have. This is available, AFAIK, from Sunset and Schatz Motorsports, and is shown below:

There has been talk, for years now, about a custom run of clear front lenses, but nothing has ever come of it.

Thanks guys for the info.

Tom, not too much to say about myself, but i can say a few words about the 968 i just bought last week. Cobalt blue, 6sp, 123k miles, right now in the shop waiting for the new suspension and some other goodies to be put on. I'll post pics as soon as i have it done.

So really no clear signals for our cars ?? brilliant ...

Nope, no clear turn signals made specifically for our cars.

What sort of suspension stuff is being done? Curious.

Mirror,

Suspension was ordered from Paragon a few days ago and will arrive sometime tomorrow, they are konis sport all around with lowering springs for the front (forgot the name, Jason said they will lower the car up to 2'' - adjustable). Also strut tower brace, Zimmerman rotors with organic brake pads are on the list. Some bad bushings are being replaced as well.

Ah, sounds very good. That will be pretty close to what I will have soon, once the Konis are installed. I'm not lowering though. I will have M030 Sway Bars too.

In Europe we do not have the small bumpers near the repeter. Hence a larger repeater lens.

I have have the clear ( = white ) lenses instead of the stock orange repeaters ( front + side )

They are specifically made for the 911 "993" but will fit quite well. The result is very good, a non expert won't see any difference.

This transformation is very common in Europe ( 993 and 968 ) because the car does look more recent once equipped.

Like somebody said, real clear lenses for the 968 don't exist and have never been made.

I bought them on Ebay Germany ( they send worldwide ), and they come with the amber bulbs.

Regards
