Do you honestly believe what you wrote? Basic cabs will not go for 30k as long as you can get Boxsters for less. I love 968s but the market is driven by demand. Low demand will not yield high prices.

PCA members, both in Pano and in the online Mart, are famous for over-pricing their cars. I do not view these ads as any indicator of value, more of owners who love their cars and price them accordingly.

I too like to be optimistic about prices/values going up and I love my car, but if anyone wants to give me 30K for mine right now, bring it on ...then I can buy two more, perhaps with lower miles, since most decent offerings I see are around 15K or so! I'm guessing we won't see prices start to increase (if ever) is when they hit the 20 year mark or so...at least those that haven't been beat to death or have 200K plus on the odometer. It's such a wonderful automobile and they produced so few, so you gotta think we should be near the bottom right now.

I think we should get 40 or so members to post their cars for sale on ebay for $35-40K.. THink about it...you see 40 968's for sale in about the same price range... then others might list them at the same range lol instant value increase

Plus, what would you do if your car sold? (now that you drove the price up; good luck finding a good cheap one to replace it with )

What year and model was the Chrysler? I love the models from 1931 and 1932. They have running boards that are as long as a Boxster, and flat head, inline V-8's.

Just saw a '95 cab with 35,191 miles go for $20,889 on eBay.
Although I signed up for this forum two years ago, I'm only recently a regular on the forum....and appreciate all the great information, ideas, and help that's out there! Look forward to talking with you all.
For what it's worth, I bought my '92 968 on eBay two years ago for $18K and I still believe it was/is worth every penny. Love that car. Just turned 52,000 miles last night. She was in great condition when I bought her, and I've invested several thousand in it just to keep her looking and feeling young -- new top to just spiff her up, fixed LOTS of little leaks (gaskets, hoses, etc all over the place), new speakers and sound system, standard maintenance, and minor cosmetic surgery (repair scratches and remove yellowed stoneguards). Not sure what she's worth officially, but she's in truly pristine condition with great engine (2% on all cylinders on leak down test) and transmission, and exceptional paint and interior. I did it all as a labor of love, and don't expect to get all the money back (if heaven forbid I ever sold her), but she's worth $20-25K to me...for an exotic, rare, and fun car. A real head turner and conversation starter....several people have asked if she's a new model this year! (OK, not from hard core Porschefiles, but....)

Hey Scott,
Sorry I don't remember any details, they had tons of old cars going through the auction and they all fetched unbeleivable amounts of money!

I would guess then, and say "Imperial", or "Waterhouse Imperial".
