944/968 Body Styling

Is it just me or does the 968 throw a long shadow (like 15 years or so). Check out the flanks on these cars. I have not seen that since, well 1995.

That Camaro sure is pretty - don't see it selling worth a durn at today's gas prices, though. Very bad timing for GM, as well as for Chrysler (Challenger, Charger), BMW (X6), and I'm sure several others I can't think of offhand who have fallen victim to the multi-year automotive product introduction cycles. In any event, you're right, the resemblence to the 968's rear fenders in undeniable.

Camero RS is a 6 banger/ SS is a V8. I saw a Challenger in person a few weeks ago and could not believe how large it looked.

If they'd put a HO 4-banger in the Camaro and put some pop up lights on it I might be tempted... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

i didn't think they were going to do a fastback rear window on the camaro - that makes it a no-go for me - i like coupe lines, not fastback - one day i might actually get around to making a real coupe out of a 968 - i think it would look great

It is the return of the "area rule" fuselage aka as the "Coke bottle Waist" a design feature used in supersonic aircraft design in the 1950's and 60's. That is why 968 are so fast, right?
