The Dealer doesn't mention mileage... I would guess well over 100K???

Also it is a Tiptronic... not as valuable...

And finally.. the right front bumper cover looks "fishy" to me... like it has been badly deformed at some point, just below where the fender line is....

Maybe just a shadow, but something to examine closely???

All said, I bought my first 968 from a dealer for $5,500 because he thought the clutch was shot... turned out it needed a new slave cylinder!!!

I love those easy fixes!

Dibs on the back window and front left fog light! I know you are going to part it right Jake

It's not a Canadian or North American car. Exported to Canada from who knows where.

So... I went and had a look at noon today and was NOT impressed. As a matter of fact, when I see a 968 (or any Porsche for that matter) that has been neglected, it makes me sad / mad.

It is a Japanese import, even though the dealer claims it is not There is a Japanese importer decal right on the rear window(!). Japanese wording on the inside of the fuel filler door, Japanese required side marker lights AND the rear tail lights are the ones with the "white" reverse section.

* I was not able to take it for a spin because they have it in their showroom!

* the rear window is delaminating

* the paint is "fair to poor" with lots of re-spray

* the interior is not bad; seats are good, center console hinge is broken, minor cracks in dash

* the car only has 98,000 KM (~61K mikes)

* engine bay looked somewhat neglected

* if it were cheaper, this would be a project car or turn it into a track car (if the person has a spare manual transmission)

* if is too much money to turn it into a "spare parts" car Dave!

The only positive that I got out of going and taking a look, is to realize how good my 968 is in comparison!

Offer the dealer $5K and let him sit on it for a while... my guess is that there will be NO takers, as so few people even know what a 968 is...

He will comeback at you with $6,500.... You "think about it" for a week, and then counter at $5,500.00, and you will have a nice Parts car!

(if you have a spot to store it out of the weather!) Too bad it's a Tip, but that's life!

Guess I was spot on! From my experience, even the good looking ones need TLC. The 93 BMW 325i I picked up a few years back is starting to nickle and dime me. Looks great, had low km's ( 32,000) but I think the lack of driving has accelerated the wear of the mechanical. Looks like I will be selling it soon. That is, after it comes back from the shop.
