So... I went and had a look at noon today and was NOT impressed. As a matter of fact, when I see a 968 (or any Porsche for that matter) that has been neglected, it makes me sad / mad.
It is a Japanese import, even though the dealer claims it is not There is a Japanese importer decal right on the rear window(!). Japanese wording on the inside of the fuel filler door, Japanese required side marker lights AND the rear tail lights are the ones with the "white" reverse section.
* I was not able to take it for a spin because they have it in their showroom!
* the rear window is delaminating
* the paint is "fair to poor" with lots of re-spray
* the interior is not bad; seats are good, center console hinge is broken, minor cracks in dash
* the car only has 98,000 KM (~61K mikes)
* engine bay looked somewhat neglected
* if it were cheaper, this would be a project car or turn it into a track car (if the person has a spare manual transmission)
* if is too much money to turn it into a "spare parts" car Dave!
The only positive that I got out of going and taking a look, is to realize how good my 968 is in comparison!
