911 & Porsche World Magazine January 2013
#1

There's a nice feature article about the 924/944/968 series with a good little write-up on the 968 CS in the January issue of 911 & Porsche World. My wife looked through a magazine store in Hong Kong (aka, every magazine ever made internationally?) and picked it out for me because it was the only Porsche magazine that mentioned the 968.

Anyway, don't know the posting rules, but if it's okay I will scan and post.

My guess is no, Bob (Flash) is pretty sticky about copyright laws. Thanks for the offer but you would need the publishers permissison for reproduction me thinks.

correct - we try not to commit any federal crimes here. besides, the print magazines have a hard enough time staying afloat without people stealing from them. heck, even newsweek stop going print.

but, thanks for the heads up. now people can go out and buy the magazine, like they should.

And it's also available for download from iTunes.

Sheesh, couldn't they have at least called it " inexpensive thrills " instead of " cheap thrills " ? Cheap has such a demeaning connotation ..

Yeah, that was a cheap shot.

Thanks for the "heads up"! I will certainly go out and buy a copy tomorrow.

Good thing you did not "scan and post"... I'm still living with a "warning" status from the last time I commited that "crime"... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/glare.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/whine.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I understand the position behind it and do respect it.

Agreed, and this might be the last time they can say it, at least until Panameras are a decade old.

don't feel too bad. I just recently posted two different articles only to find the threads were deleted the next day.....and then I remembered I wasn't supposed to do that.

it never ceases to amaze me at how many people think it's ok to steal an article from the magazine. the writers and publishers go to great lengths to put things together for us to read. all of that costs a great deal of time and money. yet, people seem to feel it's just fine to get it for free. i'd like to see how they would react if somebody came into their place of work and said "you can't charge me for your product, and i'm taking it for free". just how long do you think somebody could stay in business like that?

with the internet being what it is, it is even harder for publishers to get remunerated for their work. don't contribute to the already accelerating downfall of the magazine industry. go out and buy the danged thing.

We did not make this up, I had a telephone conversation with Pete Stoudt at Excellence in the hope that he would allow us to publish 968 only or thumbnail versions of articles. He was very clear that we were not permitted to publish any articles.

Asked and answered,

[/quote]I understand and agree. the articles I posted recently were two decades old however. So very very tuff to find, and if someone does find them to purchase.they would be second hand. No biggie either way.

i know. but i also understand the publisher's point of view. for example, i am just about to shell out over $300 for back issues. not many people may do that, but it does add up.

as somebody who works in the entertainment business, i am also keenly aware of the damage done to artists by the downloading theft. many of these people are starving as a direct result of not being able to collect royalties like they used to.

so, i'll champion this cause and request the people just pay for stuff, rather than steal it.

but, if you can get authorization from the author or publisher, we would be very happy to host it. some of them are willing to allow it. some want it low-rez. some say no flat out. give it a shot though

lol - yeah - i'm just trying to stay clear of the feds. they are watching this stuff a lot more nowadays.

at least for the time being, with the lack of an article, the thread is rather moot. i suppose when somebody goes out and gets the magazine though, we'll have something to talk about. i tried, but it wasn't in the store yet. i'm going to try again in a couple of days.
