Sorry folks for not being around much, including not posting anything following our recent meet. I've been having computer issues and limited access to the forum. A new computer is on order. Normal service will resume shortly

Hope you're all well. Catch up soon.

yup - once you go mac, you'll never go back

and that ad campaign is brilliant

seriously, i have both types of systems, having a really old hopped up 7600 that still works, a G4, a powerbook G4, a older sony Vaio, a newer one, a thinkpad, and another sony laptop - the macs are always stable (though i think the 7600 has finally reached its limits after about 15 years) - the PCs continually have issues, varying with type and complexity

yes, there is more software for PC - but, with the new macs capable of running most any PC software, that is really moot

the only reason i have not been able to convince my wife to go mac is that she seems stuck on the "right click" button - i keep telling her that everything is up at the menu bar, or at a "command stroke", but she doesn't get that

back on topic - looking forward to seeing you around more once your technical issues are resolved

I was never much for joining Cult's, so I'm sticking with my PC's.

lol - me either - i stopped drinking that PC koolaid years ago - as soon as i did, i came to my senses and bought a computer that worked - it's still working a dozen years later - even the G4 i have is almost 7 years old and still runs better and faster than the brand new bang zoom vaio we just got

still, i don't want to run out and buy all new systems, so for the time being i keep the pcs around to run stuff that won't run on the earlier macs

it's a lot easier to find tech support for pcs too, though the need is also a lot higher, so i'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing

Flash,I have right click on my MacBook....click in the bottom right hand corner of the touch pad and you get a right click. SO even right click is no argument for keeping a PC around

While we're all confessing. I'm a PC about to go Mac. I actually have a G4 in the basement.

Looking to get the new Imac to replace our Dell desktop. I played around with it at the Apple store while I was helping a friend configure and buy his. I absolutely love that machine, It just does everything right. Funny, cause I never used a Mac but i could figure everything out. It all just made sense. And the more you read about it the more you love it. Sleek, powerful, earth friendly and the support is light years ahead of Microsoft, Dell, HP etc. This is why there stock is over $200 a share. Its a great company.

yeah - they just never figured out how to market to the penny-pincher consumer - they are more the ferrari rather than the mustang - sure, the mustang will get you there - it might even sport some better numbers - there are more toys for it too, but the ride isn't as much fun as the ferrari, and the mustang won't stand the test of time

you get what you pay for

my, but we have spun off topic
