5:54PM MY TT was delivered...
#1

My Speed Yellow 00' C2 Sold last week in a record 18 Hours. A guy on Rennlist Jokingly offered me an amount for my car during a discussion about prices on Aero Kit 996's the price was too good to pass up. The guy eneded up not being ready to buy after the dozen emails and various phone calls we had. Oh well it got me going and I had the bug. I put her up on ebay and in less then a day I made a deal with a guy from WA and he was on the next plane out to Denver that very next morning. I have been wanting a TT all my adult life, however I kept telling myself recently hold out and get a GT3. I told myself a 996 GT3 will be a keeper if I buy one. Well instead I went after my dream I have a feeling this car will be in my garage for a long, long time. As it is flawless and it is a car I feel very privileged to own.

Specs:

03' TT Black on black

PCM Nav w/changer

X50 $18K Engine Power option (RARE!)

Heated Seats

X54 Exhaust tips

Whoever the person was who speced the car he did it right and used all of his option money on the important stuff More power and a warm @SS!

Well title says most of it. My TT was delivered in lightning fast time picked up in So.Cal on Thursday night, it arrived in Denver down the street from my house at 5:54PM. You have to take into consideration I bought this car sight unseen othern then a PPI. The transporter was the best, great communication, great in giving proactive updates. When I asked him for the damages he found when picking the car up he showed me scraping under the front bumper plastic. He said you have to feel this with your hand and that was it! He had a sick RR and ok Lexus being delivered to an ex USC Running back that plays for the Broncos. I do not follow football but I beleived him. I would highly recommend the transport company Schilli Specialized. The price I received was great too $880 enclosed!

Anyway back to the car. New car smell, I LOVE THE FULL LEATHER! My Cayenne had full leather and It made the car so much more enjoyable. My last 2 C2’s did not, I have to tell you it is night and day difference. Tomorrow will be a driving day for me. After spending all day in the yard doing spring chores I need a driving day BAD! Back to the car, The ex-owner needs a HUGE pat on the back! He/She must have been meticulous and really cared for the car. This car is CLEAN inside and out, it’s almost like a new car no exaggeration. From what I can tell so far, there are very small amounts of swirl marks on the paint. The car needs a good dust off as it has a layer of dust from the transporter. Interior is flawless. It's hard to find any flaws inside even the seats look brand new. The cup holder does have a crack and the entry guards (where the trunk/hood buttons are) have some scuffs. Other then that the car looks brand spankin new. Overall the paint is VERY clean again hard to find any flaws. The dealer said there were small rock chips on the hood and bumper. Well they were very honest because the rock chips are hardly noticeable and the size of a pin head. A couple things missing Wheel Key & 2nd door Key. I will check with the dealer first. If they don't have them then I guess I will make it down to the dealer this week.

I will clean her up and take some pics on my drive tomorrow. Overall I am flying HIGH. I can not loose the smile!

This is a long shot If the original owner is a member and recently returned a leased 03 Black TT X50 purchased from Michael Stead Porsche in Walnut Creek CA step forward you rock! Also I will trade you the items you forgot to remove from the trunk under the tire: 10 or so baked Bubble gum flavor Trident pieces, 1 Yellow Highlighter, 1 PC CD Rom door, 2 License plates w/frame, and 1 US Penny. I will trade these items for the wheel lock key & second car key.

Here is a question what is supposed to be in the maintenance kit, other then Tire, scissor jack, scissor jack winding handle, misc. tool kit (Screwdriver, tow hook, wrench etc., & ________ . I did not see a pump or a special aerosol can to fill the tire. It took me a while to figure out what the glow in the dark lever was. I know now an escape latch for the midgets, dwarfs or very small kids that could get stuck in the 2 cubic feet of space in the trunk.

Stay tuned an update coming tomorrow with my impressions coming from a C2.

BTW The Bose stereo sounds 1000X better the C2 Hifi sounds!

First Mods:

Smoked side markers (In hand)

SSK (On it's way)

Teq E-Brak (purchased today)

Teq TT Shifter w/horeshoe (Still looking,)

ouch, that's a tough one!

You know - we really need an American equivalent of the Nurburgring. So all of us nutters can drive a challenging track for real.

I went and drove a 964 C4 yesterday and I thought throttle response was impressive especially for a 90k mile car. The guy laughed and let me drive his '97 TT and it was absolutely amazing, so if the '03 is stronger you should be happy for some time to come.

Congratulations Eric, that is one beautiful Porsche! I do not care for the 996 body style, but yours is the exception, absolutely gorgeous, can't wait to see it at the rocky Mountain High Event.

Ether Joe, just take a trip down south to either Road Atlanta, or the new track just East of Birmingham, these are two wonderful tracks which will give you all the fun you can stand, Bob Blackwell.

Nice car. I'd give him 18 months before he is ready to move to a GT2 or some other craziness

When I saw "TT" in the thread, I was afraid Eric had switched brands. I'm really glad this is not about an Audi. Congrats, Eric. You still need to go back to a cabriolet, though.

Congratulations on the 996tt. Excellent car.

So....when will you be ready for the RUF 590 hp upgrade? My buddy Chip just had his 996tt upgraded. It went from fast to incredible.

Cool color as well!

Nicole and I took the car out for a drive yesterday. I literally grinned ear to ear during the four hour trip. We explored the Coral Creek area of Boulder county. It was my first time back there, I plan on going back again. Amazing views, lots of twisty roads and perfect warm spring weather. Nicole got her fair share of seat time. She LOVES the car, I had to beg to get back in the drivers seat . Anyway, some of the TT members on 6spd and rennlist said to wait a while before upgrading things to get additional power. I get it! The car is wicked fast out of the box!!! This particular car has the X50 option 450bhp! When you wind her up she just goes. For under $3000 I can get the car up to 520bhp beyond that you start spending bucks. On of the many changes the X50 gives you is the upgraded turbos. They are K24's which are much bigger and better turbos then stock.

We took the car home and I gave her a quick wash. I can't wait to go for a drive again ASAP. This car feels right I just love it! No complaints what so ever. I highly recommend anyone on the fence do it you won't regret it one second!

As for a GT2 well still out of my price range for now so is the CGT so I think I will hold on to this car for a long long time.

The mods are going to be simple and clean. I love this car in stock form it is just gorgeous.

Just like the 996 and the TT used to be out of your price range. I'm not holding my breath.
