1979 Rx-7 Barn Find
#1

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...22&viewitem=

The first Sports Car I ever owned was a 1983 Rx-7, it launched my love of nimble handling and a million discussion with my motorhead friends about Power to Weight ratios over pure brute power. I owned a number of Rx-7's (and MR2's) before I found my 968. I remember them all fondly.

An old Mazda friend (who found me my 1988 Rx-7 Convertible) sent me this auction. If it weren't for a lack of garage space, I would buy this car. Thought I would share I would share it with you.

I had a friend who owned one of these little rockets back in the early 80's. I always enjoyed riding in the car. I would have enjoyed it more if my friend were an accomplished driver. He always left me with one of those "life flashing before your eyes" experiences. Not good. Fantastic car though!!!

Rotary power!

That's nice Jay.
My friends in Miami are die hard rotory guys.
Been building them since we were kids.
My buddy just sold another 20B 3 rotor car.
588hp. I think this is the 6th he has built.
Last year he put a nice turbo rotory in a miata.

those were great little cars

one of the things that attracted me to the 968 were the very practical storage boxes where the rear seats would be, very similar to those in the RX-7

ironically i removed them from my blue car, and the white car didn't have them by the time i got the car

Did you guys know that the RX7's lines were based on the 924? When the RX7 was launched the designers from Mazda made a big thing out of it...I guess they wanted the 924s more up market image to rub off on it.

And now I think the RX7 is more valuable than a 924....go figure
