This information is old. I tried calling the number listed on the pdf, and they have a different name now. 76 no longer carries their brand. I did find a lead from him from a 76 station that does carry 100 octane fuel in San Jose on Almaden expressway.

I seem to rember back in the early 1980's that Piper Cub airplanes flew with 100 octane. If this is true you might be able to drive to any small airport and fill your tank up that way.

I fly single engine airplanes and fill up the plane with 100 octane low lead. Lots of these small airports have self service pumps, but don't think you can drive on to most of them. Probably not fully legal anyways since you aren't paying road taxes. You can check prices at http://www.100ll.com The bigger airports are about $6 per gallon, the smaller airports are under $4.

Ditto w/ mrmister... check around your area. Lots of FOB's will still allow "pilots" to fill up 5 gallon cans with AvGas "to-go". Do the octane math before you add it into regular pump gas though. Been doing this for many years. Just be careful with it.

Go hang out with the single-engine crowd at your local airfield and consider taking a lesson or two. Flying is not only fun, but it opens other "interesting" doors also. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif[/img]

the last time somebody checked the price of a new OEM cat, it was somewhere around $1800 - aftermarket cats won't pass emissions tests either (ask me how i know)

the power increase from an octane boost from 91 to 93 is not a lot of power (4.8hp peak) - i don't think it's worth ruining things

Saying that using leaded gas will "foul" a catalytic converter is kind of an understatement. Lead kills the catalyst. Dead. You will not be able to pass any emission tests. Lead also leaves deposits on your spark plugs and will likely shorten the life of your O2 sensor. If you use Mobil1, note that synthetic oil will not hold lead in suspension as dino oil can. Unless you have upped the compression of your engine, 100LL av gas will not increase power or do any good thing to your engine.
I'm a chemical engineer by degree and worked in gasoline refining and specifically with catalysts. I'm also a pilot and use plenty of 100LL in my plane. I would never even consider it for my 968.
