I'm surprised at having been singled out (black cab with the 968 numbers on the door from my track event the previous day). Nice that the dirt doesn't show. I may have to buy this magazine...but I'm not familiar with it. Is it available anyplace or is it electronic? (I'll go to the web site, probably answer my own question.)

Figured out where to see the Hershey photos. Next year, we should have a string that we use to line up the fronts of the cars - that'll make for a much better photo (string removed, of course).

...and after removing the string, take a picture with the headlights retracted and a second picture with the headlights "up"! tongue.gif

If that's what the world wants. For my tastes, I do everything I can to keep the headlights down - including driving with the fogs on instead of the headlights until it's dark enough that I can't see them. I hate the "frog" look - it's the only part of the exterior I would do almost anything to get rid of.

How about some pity on us poor schmucks who can't drive the 6000K round trip to meet people on a weekend. Can someone Photoshop some forum IDs under people in the pics? Love the pics but have no clue who I am looking at. Maybe someday I'll be in PA in the spring? Probably never sad.gif

The Barn in the fall is a no-brainer.

I'm trying to work in Dinos in June and Darryls in the fall.

Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll some of my 968 bucket list done by then. Got a bunch of small things to tackle - I've been amassing bits and pieces for the last 1.5 years - such as remote entry stuff - and I need to get crackin'.

What, no comments on getting to drive the "flash-mobile"? I thought there would be lots of impressions from those who got an opportunity to drive or ride in Bob's supercharged 968.......................Not impressive after all? Cmon guys! Bob Blackwell.

Bob, Flashes car is awesome! If he tossed you the keys, but failed to mention it had forced induction, you'd never know it was there. The power delivery is almost seemless.
Furthermore, his car is the complete package, everything about it. Not to stiff, no creaks, no rattles, (hard enough to accomplish in a coupe), great seats and it goes like stink. What every 968 should be. If my old one drove half that nice, I'd still have it.

I wasn't sure if this should go on the Hershey thread or the Ready, Set Blow...

Flash's is the 3rd Supercharged 968 I have driven. It is by far the most civilized. I was surprised how there was no whistle, and how smoothly the power was delivered. As was stated, if you didn't know it was there you would think that is was just an EXTRAORDINARILY powerful car...not heavy handed or brutal in any way.

What I noticed first was not having to shift...the power was just...there...it was uncanny really.

When I did get a chance to step on it, it gave me a physical reaction cool.gif ...

That's my unscientific review...

I'm trying to figure out how to convince Melva that I need a belt driven aspiration device (to accomodate better fuel consumption). laugh.gif

Regards,

Jay

lol - i did let a few people drive it (pete, jay, patrick, daryl) - i also took one guy for a ride and almost snapped his neck the first time i stomped on it - incoming bad weather and the incredible presence of the local constabulary prevented further rides

i think the "impressions" will soon be appearing on the sc thread - i'll let them tell about it, as it just doesn't seem as effective when i tell it

I didn't drive Flash's car but saw it in California. i was most impressed with the cleanliness of the package install and completeness of the package. Nice job. I hope to purchase one someday for a future coupe that i'll plan to keep.

The install looks OEM, and based on the impressions from the people who have driven it....feels oem as well. Very impressive.

I very deliberately did not ask for a ride...because I knew that if I had, I'd be on the list already, and right now I can't make that commitment. I do have one (silly?) curiosity question...and, Bob, please don't shoot me for this. Do the rubber parts have to be so blue? Black would complement my color scheme much more. wink.gif

lol - that was just my car - the hoses in the kit will actually be black

the charge pipe will be powdercoated silver rather than polished, as will the elbow in between the head unit and the MAF, and the new radiator return pipe will be powdercoated black
