Just wanted to post and thank everyone here who attended. I had a blast. The wine reception was very welcoming & the saturday night dinner was great. I had a long drive home (5 hours), stopped by the chocolate factory & the museum before i left to come home finally. The last 100 miles of the trip home i ran into a modified 993 (who i found out lives in my neck of the woods and was also @ the swap meet) and got to play a little....so that was entertaining. My buddy picked up a set of wheels for a third their worth at the swap meet (Lucky him).

Lastly, thank you all who voted for my car. I got 2nd place coupe this year and am very pround/

It sounds like you all had a blast. I wonder how much it costs to ship the CS over the pond in order to qualify for the next event?

At the prices 968s are going for here, you'd probably do better to simply purchase one for the event - and then you could either sell it, store it, or part it out at the swap meet!

Dino you should be proud! I think if everyone who voted got to drive it, you would have won.
Who was the winner? The Polar Silver 030 car?

Firefish,

Get on a plane and show up in a Ford. I think that was the point of the other nonsensical thread. You show up and you'll be welcomed.

Nice shot Rico,

Thanks for bringing "exta" wine...that Pinot Noir was amazing (and Melva's favorite).

Looking forward to next time.

You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed ! I always have a good stock of it so it will make it to the next event ! We had a great time. It was nice to be able to explore the area as well. I found a great bar down the street called The Gas Station Bar and grille. Great band and atmosphere. I stumbled upon it walking the neighborhood late evening. Everyone was settled in for the night by the time I discovered it. The hotel was a great choice !

You know Jake, theres more lady owners that showed up than one could imagine.
I'm sure your wife will be entertained and have a great time. If she's board with it all,
Saturday is usually spa day for some of the lady's, orginized by Jay's wife Melva.

And the guy in the last pic that looks like Martin Sheen is Page.
A very funny guy who tried to raffle of the flash moblie.

Finally getting around to posting after a much needed nap on Sunday and still trying to sleep off the last of this sinus infection/creepy crud that I picked up on the drive back east last weekend.

Most folks have covered the facts that it was a great event, Pat has nothing to apologize for, and our group of owners is among the best no matter what badge is on our cars! The only downside of the entire weekend was that the fun run got scrapped due to the weather, but I'm saving the route for next year...it is a good one! The omission of the fun run did allow us to have an impromptu breakfast with some folks that remained and that capped off the event rather nicely.

It was great to meet some new folks: Aaron and Minta, Bryson and Kathy, Celine and Andy, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Thanks to everyone who voted for my car...I feel honored to win such an award as it came from all of you rather than from some stuffy shirt making sure I have all the right tools in my factory tool kit and my wheel center caps are all pointed the right way. Funny how the car I detailed wins first place and my own, which I literally haven't touched in about a year, takes second!! By next year, I'll have the rest of my cosmetic items addressed and the car will be even better!

Kathy is hoping to put together some kind of get together for Annapolis in August and my Fall Detail Day will be in September, so keep a eye out for those events later this year. Always a great time to gather among friends for good food, fun sights and car talk.

- Darryl

Your center caps weren't pointing the right way? I DEMAND a recount!!!! tongue.gif

I'm really bummed I couldn't be there to see all the great cars and hang out with all the great people.

More pics, more pics!!

I would like to add my congratulations to Jay, Jim, Kathy and Darryl for putting on a great event. I thoroughly enjoyed speading time with all those who have attended previous 968 Hershey events and all the new folks who were attending their first 968 event in Hershey. It is hard to believe that 171 different 968 owners have attended the previous 7 events in Hershey, plus those who attended this year!

Elke, my wife, also enjoyed seeing many of the ladies (Emmy Lou, Ginger, Doreen, Kathy, Christine, Nicole and Melva) again plus Zach, a 9 year future 968 owner - if his Dad Ray gives him the car! This is derfinately an event also for the ladies!

It appears that the hosting of the annual 968 Celebration in Hershey at the Swap Meet is in good hands! Look forward to particpating in future events!

Don

p.s. Jeff, look forward to seeing Minty, Greg (home from College?) and the 968 Coupe Registry next year!
