this is very likely going to become a regular thing on this site - after some editing, i see some DIY files getting made up - we'll figure out how to park the stuff here later

broadcasting will begin somewhere around 10am Eastern time
West Coast:
http://www.ustream.t...flash-detailing
broadcasting will begin somewhere around 9am Pacific time
you can view both simultaneously by having two windows open
there is a chat function - it will be working - we may or may not be sitting at the computer to answer you (very hard to hold a buffer and type at the same time), but members can chat amongst themselves too
this is going to be cool

Looks like you got a haircut for the event! Glad to see you're walking around with your cup of coffee. Are you on your 4th or 5th already?
See you later today.

s**t, i just now realized those were not flood lamps illuminating the garage for this webcast, it was merely one 60w bulb, but everytime Bob passed under it the reflection was like a solar flare covering the entire area !

Saw a product called Optima -- (something). It is used in place of wax, a polymer of some type, used in place of wax. Looks very interesting, need to follow up on it. Just spray it on, and smooth it out, no waxing, no rubbing Probably is chemically very compatible with the clear coat chemistry.
Most interesting, something happened because of this event. On the way back home, somewhere on 405 in the Seal Beach area, a 968 Aventurine couple comes flying by me on the right. Unfortunately no hello or high sign.
Then heading east on 78 closer to home, a black 968 coupe flies by on the left. Again, no hello or sign. Odd that both were a little dusty/dirty. On the other hand, late summer in SoCal is really bad. No rain for 6 months leaves lots of stuff around. Cars stay cleaner after the first rain.
I see a 968 on the roads about once or twice a year, that's all. And have several trips a year to the north side of LA, never see a 968. And on this day, for the detail event, I see 2 in the same day!
I wonder, is there some type of invisible force at work that they all come out on detail day?
Thanks flash!

i had a great time - was fun to see everybody - we ended up with 7 cars and 10 people showing up over the course of the day
we really transformed a couple of them - had a ball seeing the look on the faces
the webcast was fun, technical hiccups and all - if we had more time to plan a bit better, we could have done "clinics" - we'll have to think more n that later
thanks to everybody who showed up - i'll get some pics up later today

Darryl and his PDR guy really helped my cars paint.
Would love to do something like this again.
