Chris,
The last 3 digits of your VIN. If you open up your maintenance manual you should see codes L908 which is the paint code for grand prix white and PJ which is the interior code for black/marble gray. If that is what you see then you are 1 of the 8 coupes.

Black/Light Gray (92-94.5)
Coupes - 4
Cabs - 8
Black/Marble Gray (94.5-95)
Coupes - 8
Cabs - 4 (1 with a black top, the other 3 with gray)
Jeff"
Is that 4 gp white on black/light grey coupes, and 8 cabs, or 4 coupes 8 cabs, with black/light grey interiors?

Remember, Black/light gray and Black/marble gray are very similar. You'll find the Black/light gray on the 92-94.5s and they use the "944 style" seats. The Black Marble gray are found on the "993 style" seats. Here are the numbers again but I found another one since my last post (I'll be done in September).
Black/Light Gray (92-94.5) coupes - 5
Black/Light Gray (92-94.5) cabs - 8 (all with black tops)
Black/Marble Gray (94.5-95) coupes - 8
Black/Marble Gray (94.5-95) cabs - 4 (1 with a black top, the other 3 with gray)

Ahh, I know what you mean. Yes, those are just GP white numbers. For the full North American 968 production line here is what I have on those (remember, coupes are 90% done but not all done).
Black/Light Gray (92-94.5) coupes - 43 (this number will increase as I'm finishing up the 93s)
Black/Light Gray (92-94.5) cabs - 61
Black/Marble Gray (94.5-95) coupes - 63 (this is the final number)
Black/Marble Gray (94.5-95) cabs - 60

That makes you #310 out of 2,008 (cabs). Does your car have the recessed hood badge and the edged rear 968 emblem?
Thanks

#2,018 of 2,234, 1 of 8 P5 grand prix white coupes with the balck and marble gray interior. I don't have a grand total on white yet but it is the third most popular color and will be around 280 coupes.

No. Somewhere in this cars life, it was hit in the driver front which probably took out the hood also which was replaced with a newer version and necessitated the car to be repainted also which is where the rear numbers were lost. Between me and the prior owner, we have spent over $15K on this car in the last 5 years. I've seen a 92 recessed hood on Ebay but it was in Portland. Thought about getting it .............but then....what for? When I sell the car, that hood won't mean much to the average buyer.

I take it black/black had to have been one of the most common color combos?

Almost, #50 1994s, #1,307 of the coupes. Black/Black, options are 17" wheels, full power driver's seat, painted crest center caps. This is a 718 car which means it was born a 1993 and reVINed as a 94. Let me know your production date (found on the driver's door jam VIN sticker, 3/93 or 4/93?) if you have a minute. I don't have the coupe registry done but almost. As you suspected, black/black is the most poular coupe combo.
