If your just trying to figure out what number 968 you have then you have all you need above. As for all the details, you'll be able to get to all of it sometime next year after I finish the coupe registry. Stay tuned, now, back to my data entry....

I know everything there is to know about mine.

Just be nice to have all the data (cabs) so all can see it.
And really understand the whole NA production run.

This would make for some great reading and coversation for the
whole community.

Jeff and I have had a number of in depth conversations about this topic. I understand the effort that he has put into accumulating this information and I respect his perspective. When and if he decides to share, he will do it in his own way. If the community weren't so fractured by a few miscreants I'm sure this would already be shared, but Jeff has not shosen sides.

Maybe they willl decide to buy 911s and we can add by subtracting...one can hope...

Yes, I would very much like this information available, and the sooner the better. I'm sure we will all benefit at some time.

No "if". My intention was always to share, with everyone. Just give me until the end of 2010 to do it my way. In the meantime, any questions you might have, just let me know.

I don't. I just put the info up above so you can answer that question for yourself. As for sequence number, other then number 1 and the last one I really don't think it makes that much of a difference, just something interesting to know.

Jeff,

If it were me; once complete, i would publish this data in the form of a book. I'm sure we would all buy it. I know i would. Make mine a hardcover!

Just my 2 cents. cool.gif

ha!! Dino, do you want to be my publisher? The only problem with that is I also want the information to be free to everyone. It will be avaliable on the web and free to download for everyone.

Flash: MAybe we can make a running list of all known VIN and owner/members (spreadsheet type thing)?

why you all ask: because it's another cool fact of 968 ownership....

Yes, Gilders car is #8 of all the coupes. That is very low and option code 740 is "show car preparation" so it must have had an interesting history. VIN 0067 is also a 740 car and it was for sale on the internet a few years ago.

I'm driving 1992 coupe ending with VIN 0108. I seem to recall it was actually an October 1991 production date - but I can't remember where I saw that!

They only have a 6 spd and LSD in common. NS820067 is a red car with cashmere interior, sport seats, 17"s, and hi-fi sound with CD. Gilders car is amethyst with magenta interior. I did not make the autoshow in NYC in 92. I wonder if someone here did and maybe saw one of these two cars??? I have pictures of the 968s at the NYC autoshow in 95.

That would make you #48 of 2,234. You production date can be found on the upper right corner of your VIN sticker on the driver's door.

Gilders car sounds really nice.

I dont have any pics of the Coupes from the '92 NY Auto show. But i do have this picture (i was 11 years old). I'm 99% sure this was taken at the '92 NYSIAS. I believe you know the VIN & options for this red cab?

'92 Coupe, last four digits of VIN = 0386, which from XRAD's instructions makes mine #326.

AWESOME PHOTO!!!! That is you, right?? Who would have known. I have hundreds of photos from the show through the years, many with Greg as he grew up. He's starting his senior year in high school tomorrow. Look how fast time goes by.
