LOL... I'll be pulling that baby up.... Pete won't let me drive it outside of a track surface...

By the way... no rooms shown available at the Holiday Inn. If anyone is interested in sharing or otherwise needs to unload a room, please let me know!
Thanks,

As discussed recently, the rooms are reserved for those who are bringing their 968s (a room is reserved, and was confirmed with credit card by Pete) to the event (we have a few more who have signed up).

I will put you on the "wait list" in case anyone who signed up drops out before Mar 25. On March 25, I have to give any left over rooms back to the hotel and you may have to negotiate with another owner, who has a room, directly. For those who signed up and who have still not confirmed your reservation with the Holiday Inn, do it soon or possibly lose it to another person on Mar 24.
Not promising, but I may be able to get more rooms once I fill my current contract 25 (6 left) for Friday night and 5 (l left) for Saturday.
My next update on the event will be Wed, Feb 25, with only 2 months to go!

Don
p.s. Tom Egan is interesting in bringing his rare 968 Chevy V8 to the event but has not signed up yet.

You guys from Canada - where are you? I would likely drive first to Toronto and then south from there.

1. My car is no longer "black" - it is "Basalt Black", thank you very much!
2. What makes you so sure that this is the LAST 968 gathering in Hershey, PA? Just because you're giving up the reins doesn't mean they won't get picked up by someone else. Plus - I've heard this "last" stuff before.
See you soon.

I thought seriously of attending, as I still have my 968. I'm temporarily a Two Porsche household. Then my wife reminded me we have Fleetwood Mac tickets for that weekend. That put an immediate end to my 968 Gathering plans.
Jim, I think you should take over the 968 Gathering duties as Don "retires". All in favor, signify by posting, "Yes."

Don and I had that conversation a few days ago. He should really call it the "Last Don hosted 968 celebration". I think the Hershey location is a nice central spot for everyone and doing the event in conjunction with the swap adds that much more interest. We'll certainly have another event there next year. We'll have to see to what degree.
Follow this link to the 968 register website for a agenda on the event.

See you in a few weeks!

Now I just need to focus on dressing the cab up a little and on seeing how many of the little mods I can get done before 4/25!

Still working on 968 Turbo RS 1 of 4 to come to my last Gathering - wish me luck!
Kim - as mentioned, I have 3 rooms left for Friday and will bust a@# to see if I can get you a room for Saturday if you are coming. Confirm to me at dhassenbein@comcast.net thanks
Biotechee - sounds like you will be able to join us for Saturday at the Swap Meet. Please confirm your info to me a dhassenbein@comcast.net and I will include you on the list and provide you with a copy of the official 2009 968 Gathering window decal and a parking sign for the Swap Meet.
Anchorman - change made, thanks!
Will this be the last 968 Gathering or Celebration that I host - yeah, no joke. Will someone else step up (Ron, Randi hosted the 2005 Celebration, Jay and Pet hosted the 2006 Celebration, Jeff hosted the GTG last year) volunteer to do a Gathering or Celebration during the Swap Meet next year? We will have to wait and see. If they do, I will provide them with hotel, awards, contact info, etc info so that they can have a successful event. I would definitely attend any 968 event that happens in this area. Would I host a 968 Get To Gether during the Swap Meet with everyone meeting at the Swap Meet? I would definitely consider it.
3 rooms left Friday! Everyone who attends gets one of the exclusive "Celebrate the last 968 gathering in Hershey" window decal (will probably sell on Ebay later for $5 - lol) and preferred parking at the Swap Meet.
