Some of you have experienced problems logging in, and have gotten locked out. You only get 3 tries before that happens, so be careful when logging in.
First off, when that happens, you need to contact the administrator and let them know. There is no regular check system or notification process in place for us to know when that happens. We have no crystal ball, and it may be weeks before we find out otherwise.
There are a lot of security protocols in place, with more being added. It is an ever increasing problem to prevent spammers. We are constantly implementing new tools to lock them out. Some of these create difficulties with some users.
The system will automatically log you out if it is inactive. The cookies also expire after a while, requiring new cookies to be loaded. This happens automatically when you log in.
Here are some tips for minimizing problems:
Make sure you have "cookies" enabled.
If you are running Vista, make sure you have "allow new history" enabled.
If you are one of the few people still on AOL, do not log in through there. Go directly to a browser (Explorer, Safari, etc) and log in from there. AOL is known to have conflicts, and it is not likely they will be resolved.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but I think you will agree that it has been nice to be free of spam, and it is one of the things that makes this the absolute best 968 site around.

Just a point of clarification and reiteration, as there has been some criticism as a result of this happening, and someone thinking we did it on purpose. We have NOT locked anyone out. Anyone to whom this happened, we apologize for the inconvenience, but we have no way of knowing when it happens on any kind of a timely basis, and it is up to you to let us know. Then we can correct the situation.
Even if you are locked out, you can still send an email to the administrator via the link on the index page.
