I am going to die out there. My AC is not doing a thing right now. Did I mention I am from Alaska and I melt in the heat ? If I do melt, will there be a civilized discussion of who gets my car, or will everyone be running off with door panels and seats and whatever scraps they can fit in the trunk....hmm. I am guess the latter, a bunch of scavengers.

I was going to call dibs on anything and everything , except the AC since it's not doing its job, or the driver's seat which will have been damaged by the imbedded melted goo that was once a human... only to realize that I also melt in the heat, so I guess there'll be at least two cars up for grabs..

Hey Chris, I know you can fly fighter craft, but can you fly a helicopter and have mrmister go with you to take a few aerial shots of all the 968s driving on the coast ? I'm sure we can find a coup[le of stand-in drivers for your 968s until you're done with the shoot tongue.gif

And I thought this was the kinder gentler event. Take your time, no pressure sort of deal.... haha should have known better. See you at 5:early

Let's see - we all wake up really, really early, then drive half of the day, eat a lunch at Tobin James while "enjoying" the 102 degree weather, followed by wine tasting... hmmm, not sure about the rest of you guys but by 3 pm I'm going to be searching for a hammock b/w two trees with lots of shade so someone just come back and wake me up when it's time to head out to Cambria for dinner. That's if I don't fall asleep inside the cellars under a nice oak barrel ( which has a tube leading directly into my mouth.. ) smile.gif

Truth be told, I'm very nervous in helicopters. It is an entirely different flying experience. A nice passing shot from a helicopter of 10 or so 968s on the PCH would be great, especially if you include on of those spectacular arch bridges.

you know, if we only had the time it might have been worth risking the wrath of other weekend drivers, not to mention the possible fines and traffic violation citations, to close the road ( for 10 min.) with a couple of cones and two of us wearing official looking orange vests and hard hats at each end directing traffic while we park our cars all lined up on THE arch bridge near Big Sur, climb up high enough on the cliff where we can take some spectacular shots and then just peel out of there before the CHP shows up dry.gif

Car is looking pretty good. The only thing I was not able to do was install the upper/lower suspension braces. Maybe I will bring the front and put it on down there.

There was an awful lot of traffic on the way
back to socal. It's a good thing I left early,
as it probably got worse.

Video Link below. Or search on youtube for "Porsche 968 winery". Let's just say that we had plenty of opportunity to 'find ourselves' Saturday wink.gif

Turn it up right at the beginning or you'll miss the best part.

A really great event. It was a pleasure to meet new and reaquaint with others as well. And no doubt that our tour guide found the best restaurant in Templeton - yeee haaaa.....

i wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who attended this year - it turned out to tie the largest group of 968s ever to assemble west of the mississippi

i think we all had a great time and tasted some phenomenal wines (i picked up 11 cases to be shipped home) - there were some interesting drives, a few mechanical mishaps, and some fun meals - this was definitely the best yet

there are lots of stories to be told, and i'll leave them to others to tell, as you wouldn't believe me if i told them - tons of pics were taken, and i'm sure they will be added into the gallery

thanks again to everybody for making this a fantastic event
