thanks to the members - junior has graduated

we now have more than double the membership of what .net EVER had - this is verified membership, not spammers
we have had almost as many new members join since the takeover as have been total posts on the 968 section of rennlist in that same time frame - post count is not even a close race, with this site outweighing it by almost a factor of 10 (lol - and i'm only a small percentage of that)
the bid daddy is dead - rennlist is like your little sister's closet (a pile of fluff where you can't find anything) - even the hard cases come here and lurk, and post stuff from here to over there - the other attempts at sites over here were the sound of one hand clapping - looks like "junior" has graduated to the big time
it's all because of you guys - thanks
thanks to eric for the foresight to make this happen

since we took over, our lowest posting day was 12 (way back in december), with our highest at 124 - the average has been over 50
clearly, this has been a success, and again, thanks to all who have helped make that happen

lol - it isn't - just saying thanks to those who helped make this site the best 968 site around - i didn't want it to go unnoticed that the members here have clearly been the reason for that - all hissy fits, rants, and ravings aside, and no matter how much work i do to reorganize it, add features and all of that, it is the members that are ultimately responsible for a site's success

This is a great site. I have learned a lot and got several good ideas. I also like the general friendly and positive approach to all the posts. I used to be in a 350Z forum community where people were afraid to express ideas because of the potential to get flamed.

Congratulations to all the members and those who have put in the huge extra effort to make this a great forum!I used to be in a 350Z forum community where people were afraid to express ideas because of the potential to get flamed.
I spent some months on a 944 forum (but my 944 is now sold) and 1/3 of the posts were dribble, 1/3 were so poorly written or disrespectful as to question the language and thinking skills of the writer, and perhaps 1/5 had something interesting.

But I do wonder - whatever happened to the former 968.netters (I won't list their names here for fear of opening old wounds) who were responsible for so much of the nastiness on that site? These guys were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the car, but they caused more grief than they were worth. Do they all hang out on R.L. now?

I now lurk both here and on R.L.. I spend most of my R.L. time in the 993 forum (closet 993 lover!) and the OT section reading all the interesting topics. The only advantage the 968 section of R.L. has over Forums is it is easier to catch up on what has been written over the last few days. On here, I need to "dig" more and that's my only gripe.

however, you can set your "view new posts" parameters to show "in the last week" or whatever - it's in the drop down at the bottom right after you click "view new posts"

Was not aware of that feature! Thank you! Will definitely make life a little easier for me...
Another interesting thing re: R.L. is I get to see some of your (Bob's) posts there as well as here!

With all of that, participating financially to keep this site moving was a no-brainer. I would encourage all of our members to contribute something............it doesn't run for free. Lets all help keep this the best place to talk and share out thoughts on our 968's.

How could you sell the 944 without calling me first???? You know I loved that car. And my kid is finally getting his license..... I thought the garage looked a little empty on the "944 side" in your cool pic.
This forum is great because the folks on here are
1) knowledgable,
2) helpful,
3) generally friendly,
4) fun to hang with, and
5) passionate about their cars, and yours
Having met several at the CA get together in Paso made me a firm believer and a member for life. Can't wait for the Ortega run.
