just a reminder - we won't be stopping for any of this, so:

CHECK YOUR OIL
CHECK YOUR WATER
CHECK YOUR TIRES
FILL YOUR TANK

less than 48 hours to go

For those of us near the Mexican border this is a pretty decent haul - 325 to 350 miles. That's a little snug - I'd hate to run out on 46.

We are looking forward to it. See you early Sat.

lol - i suggest you, and those with you, stop up here on your way off of the freeway en route to my house and top off - if you take the left per the directions, there is a chevron on the right side of the road and a costco that should be open on the left - if you went right, there is an arco, another chevron, and jut a bit farther down on the left, a 76

I'll be heading north on the 101 from the valley
area of LA. We should meet at some point north
of Oxnard. That's if everything goes according
to schedule. I have a black coupe.

If it doesn't work out I'll meet everyone at the Paso
Robles Inn parking lot.

NorCal group - a 10:15 or so meeting time in Gilroy might be quite a bit earlier than really needed. Even if we leave around 11 we'll end up in Paso by 12:30-ish.. and then waiting around in the searing heat for the SoCal group to arrive is probably not on anyone's favorite things to do list ( and that's assuming they'll even make it there by 1 pm
- waay too many logistics at play for them and too many points of interest on the drive up...)

So I'm thinking we should connect at Starbucks shortly before 11 and then be on our way by 11:15, 11:30 at the latest.

Whaddaya say ?

ALRIGHT- Tires just put on the rears, so the 968 will be in attendance tomorrow!!

Went with BFG G-Force Sports- they were the only decent ones I could find that the shops around here had in stock, and could put on for me this morning, so such is life.

Our plan for tomorrow is just to get up and head to Bob's as our first RV point.

We will see you all there!

Works for me, although we shouldn't cut it too close on time. The last drive I made down to my project site in Morro Bay, the CHP was out in force between Soledad and Atascadero and this was mid week.

BRING THE RADAR DETECTORS!!!

I don't own one. Reliance on electronic countermeasures equipment got my ass shot out of the sky once upon a time, so I have tended to rely more on my visual instincts. The tail warning sensor announced the presence of the radar directed SA-2 Guideline just a slit second or two before it detonated!!!!!

Chris,

I suspect the terrain in Paso will be slightly more pleasureable than the one you saw with the SA-2...

largest turnout we've ever had at Paso, and it was a memorable one ! very good meeting new friends, seeing old ( not an age reference ;) ) ones again, perfect wine tasting and VIP cellar tours, ending with what had to be the best brick oven gourmet pizzas I've had, and all of this in great company ! many thanks and appreciation must go to Bob for putting all this together !!!!!!!!!!! ( not an easy task )

now it's time for the official photogs to post the pix ... :D :)
