I've been using this free utility to resize the photos before I upload them. It is an extra step, but worth it when I've wanted to provide photos for certain things.
FastStone Photo Resizer: http://www.faststone...sizerDetail.htm. Free for non-commercial use only.
Been using it for over a year, works very well. Does lots of other image conversions as well.

Thanks, that should save me a bit of effort. I believe that the new version of the Forum software will auto resize, but its not installed yet.

I have been really impressed with Picasa. It does photo editing (resizing) and a lot more. It is a free google product for windows or linux.
