No it's not, and you're not fooling anybody ; Cal Poly has some of the best looking women on this planet so we all know why anyone moves to, or near by SLO ;) :)

You got me on that one. I thought it was just me? Or just this semester? But holy smokes, the girls here are beautiful. And not just that, but it's the concentration. At least 60% of the girls are "visually pleasing", and I heard 2/3 of the school's population are girls. So on a BAD day, 2 out of every 5 people you walk by make you... happy. At SFSU it was a good day if I saw ONE hottie.

Rich, hope you can make it.

I won't be tasting any wine - I don't drink. But I'd love to buy an overpriced hamburger and see a load of 968s.

Cool, me neither. Maybe some of us will just hang out at the Firestone grill in downtown SLO, get some delicious tri-tip and watch the beauties stroll by... ;)

I am going to try to join this one. My first GTG with you guys. My wife loves wine and the 968 is her favorite car to cruise in. Sounds like a great recipe. Hopefully I would have found time to get my new Turbo Twist rims on and the chip and airbox installed. Gotta get some new rubber.

for the several non-drinkers of the group, the crooked kilt does have non-alcoholic beer ( though you might get a crooked look from the waitress if you order that  ) and iirc, tobin james did have a non-alcoholic sparkling "wine" in the tasting room.. Sean, didn't you try that one ?

all will go perfectly well with fat burgers and/or tri-tip so comeon down ! or, up for you SoCal guys ;)

I can spend the night in a hotel down there if those are your plans.

And I thought SFSU was a huge improvement over Berkeley in that department.

Really? I guess it depends on when you're there. I did one summer course at Berkeley, and the campus was infested with babes. I had year-round courses at SFSU and it never really "picked up". But then it also depends what part of campus you hang out on! Language and lib arts is the hotties' watering hole, or so I'm told.

yeah. Engineers get paid well. . . but suffer a bit with the work and study surroundings.

I took German at SFSU and actually there were 2 babes in the class.

I'm trying to decide if I should just drive from SLO to Paso, or if I should make an actual day out of it, get up early, drive to LA, and caravan up with everyone else. Meh, I like sleep though...

LG

Your welcome to ride with me if you like. I am planning to stay over in Paso and return on Sunday as there are some wineries that I would like to visit in conjunction with my enology and viticulture studies. There is one other potential complication and that is I am making an unanticipated trip to Europe later this month. I should be back before the Paso run, but in my line of work, "s*** happens" as they say. So let's keep in touch and if someone else also offers a ride you'll have some redundancy.

I was just in Paso area this Monday at one of my project sites in Morro Bay. Drove the 968 and the ride down and back was just beautiful, green hills with wildflowers tinting them yellow, gold and blue. The CHP was out also, as thick as flies from King City south.

Cool.
Just let me know how much cash I should save for hotel.
I could also have someone drop me off at your home or a mutual location for pickup/drop off to make it easier.
Just let me know if it doesn't look like it will work out.
This goes the same for anyone else who is willing to offer a seat.
Oh, yea.
I'm 6'3" so the back seat of a 968 wont work. ;)

Even less now.. :)

And those of us from the NorCal group taking 101 down , will hopefully meet at the usual spot ( Starbucks shack at the Gilroy Outlets Shopping area - Leavesley Rd exit ) around 8:30-ish.. and get the caravan going toward Paso by 9 am..

I might not be able to bring my 968. The front AC compressor bolt snapped off, the rear one backed out, and the tensioner rod snapped. I'll try to get it fixed in time.

easy parts to source - easy repair - plenty of time

I wish this problem was not so common though - I see it happen a lot when somebody adjusts the belt without first loosening the mounting bolts and also forgetting to tighten them during other work
