One thing I'm afraid is permanent is the lack of mods available for the 968, which probably explains the dearth of traffic on the Mods boards of all the forums. Given the cost of development, the very limited number of 968s produced makes it very uneconomical for anybody to produce mods for these cars. The fact that there are a few companies like RS Barn out there amazes me, and they have my undying respect, but I'm not optimistic that we'll ever have items like a carbon fiber hood, a supercharger that doesn't nix the AC, a lightweight flywheel that can accomodate a spring centered clutch disk, let alone anything as exotic as a fixed headlight conversion. Hope I'm wrong...

I'm glad you all feel that we need more discussions started on this board. As I have a list of topics that I would like to discuss.

This being our slow season here at work, lord knows I have the time.

IIRC, everything you've mentioned on that list is in development. . .

Maybe, but over the years, we've experienced that it's a very long road between development and execution on such a low volume car. Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath that any of them will ever happen. But that's the price we pay for having such a rare car.

I haven't been talking much cause I haven't been driving my car all the much for the past month. That and it's still having problems (which I think the possible causes have been tracked down). Not much to do over the winter except take it out for a cruise on the weekends ;)
