It's not as ridiculous as the PBC event , but still a rip-off. Hey, it's all about capitalizing on supply and demand , lol.
When the U.S. hosted the soccer World Cup , I traveled to Pasadena for the final match . A business partner was able to get two tickets
( nosebleed section, 80th row, and in a corner of the stadium behind the goal ) at a mere $ 1,100 a piece but his company's expense account covered that , however , when I checked to see if I can book a hotel , there was a two night minimum for everything within a 25 mile radius of the stadium , and the equivalent of Motel 6 , Howard Johnson Inn, etc prices were approx. $ 500 / night . Just as a reference , the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena rates were 10 X their standard rack rate . And sold out too !, I ended up staying at a friend's house in the area , but that was pure luck .
So Rennsport maybe much more " reasonable " BY COMPARISON , but it all comes down to what it's worth to the person to attend the event . No different than a concert, or a sporting event , and so on . I usually spend $ 2,000 total to attend a Formula One event ( in Austin ) but even that is wearing thin in light of how much I get back out of it . My threshold for Rennsport is about $ 300 .
