Does anyone have any decent pictures of a 968 in Aventurine Green?

I'm looking for a L39S (?) Aventurine Green on Tan coupe.

I believe they were made in that color from 93-95? Does anyone have any production numbers?

I searched, and came up with a few pics, but they didnt show the color too well.

Arnach,

I have an Advent Green coupe... Any pictures you see will not do it justice. Just like the Midnight Blue and Amazon Green colors for the 968, Advent Green is hard to show in a picture. Mine is metallic Advent Green and definitely looks great on these cars as far as I am concerned. The color has a grey tint to it, that, depending on ambient lighting and time of day, can look very dark green to almost dark grey in my opinion. Nighttime is nearly black. Unfortunately, the only photos I have of my car are not electronic and are pretty old. Furthermore (let the hazing begin), I do not possess a digital camera.

Good luck! Perhaps you live near someone with said color? I am in suburban Philly, PA and you are more than welcome to stop by and look at mine if you're in the area.

I'm in Havertown, is that near you? I assume it is.

Arnach,

I live in Plumsteadville, PA, just North of Doylestown, PA. Havertown is a South West sub of Philly, no?

If you want to see the color in person, let me know. BTW- the pictures that PorscheDave posted depict the color very well, at least as shown on my 17" desktop LCD. If I had to guess, I would say the 968 pictures were taken on a slightly overcast day due to the large amount of grey in the color. The best shot is definitely the 993- you can see the darker greys in the shadows, then the lighter greens in the sunlight.

I agree with Bio, this color looks different depending on the lighting. I've noticed my car sometimes looks turquoise or money green.
I don't have any recent shots but there's a pic in "my garage" entry:

Yep, it is casually up for sale. I am still driving it daily and have put almost 7k miles on it in the last 5 weeks or so. It is such a nice car, and if not for the mileage I would ask 15 or 16k for it. It is nicer than most 968s that have only half the miles.

The fact that I really do not WANT to sell it has kept me from returning phone calls from interested parties, LOL. The sad truth is that I will be in NJ for the next 6-8 weeks and the car will see winter roads as I no longer have a second vehicle. If I can sell it soon, then I can pick up a beater for winter and do some other things with the cash.

I'll be driving my 968 in New Jersey every day for the next 6 weeks - and many more. Put winter tires on it, and it'll do fine.

Arnach,
If you end up loosening your criteria for Adventurine to include the similarly nice Oak Green Metallic, I know of a pretty nice Oak Grun car with tan interior (worn upper bolster on driver's seat) in VA with 103k miles for $10500 and all maintenance records. I found the car on Cars.com. The seller sent me over 50 megs of photos of the car. It has the nice engine compartment trim and glove holder. If someone is interested in a nice DRIVER at a fair price check out this car. The paint is original but is not pristine and is not represented as such. My guess is someone could pick-up this car for ~$10k which seems pretty fair overall.
Cheers,
Tim :D

Boy, you guys are fast in replies. :D No need for me to show off my A"d"venturine Green, but you can look to the left or in my garage. I got a digital camera for Christmas and took some pics of the interior but I have made a lot of alterations, e.g "fake" wood dash, aluminum shift insert, replaced center console, cup holder, Porsche emblem on steering wheel. Mine is also a metallic, I don't know if there is a non metallic Aventurine Green. The car in Va is being pursued by Steve Caldwell in Canada as he has asked to look at for him.

Just curious guys - what is the difference between the Amazon Green and the Aventurine Green. Were both colors available all four years? Are both colors equally represented, or is one harder to find than the other? I've never owned a green auto, but .....

Thanks

Amazon Green is a LOT different than Adventurine Green. Amazon green is a pearl effect paint, adventurine green is not.

See my avatar for an explanation, it's Amazaon Green. :)

As noted, Amazon is much more blue in nature, really an interesting color. Not sure of the official distribution, but I've noted a fair number of Amazon, but only seen one Aventurine.

Porsche seemed to paint 968's and 944's in a much wider variety than the 911's. Maybe it's just my focus, but I'm kinda thankful to Porsche for doing so.

Now, finding THE car you want in THE color... That gets pretty tough. If you can, you are plenty patient and a little lucky.

Aventurine green is really a staggeringly beautiful color IMO. What's staggering about it is that is looks so bland in pictures! That 993 pic is the best I've seen though.

There's a Av-green 968 in a Pcar performance shop aroudn here getting work done, I've seen it a couple times going to get parts from them. It has a deviating light and dark grey interior. it is just salivatingly beautiful. I WANT ONE! :)

the interplay of grey and green in the paint is stunning.

Did that car have a cloth interior? I just bought one fitting that description up in your area. I'm picking it up on Wednesday. :)

what? What? you bought that car??!!

The interior was. . . light grey. I don't think it was cloth though.

If the car you bought had recently had major work done by Devek in Mountain View. . . then that's the one.

Kris if so I envy you

Oh no, it's probably completely different.

After I posted, I reread yours and saw that you spotted it at a performance shop. The one I bought is bone stock with 36k miles.

I very much look forward to seeing the color in person after reading your impression. I look forward to making it to some of the meets also.

Cheers! :)

Aahz - Does your new baby have the "Porsche" cloth seats in gray....the one at a specialty car dealer in Benicia? If so, nice looking car! Congratulations!

Best,
