this site has always depended on the "kindness of strangers".  periodically we would seek out donations from the members to deal with the costs of running the site.  it has been a couple of years since we did this, and we have been carrying the expenses of the website for a while now.  we have had some new expenses lately, and wanted to reach out to the membership for help.
