I've been told that my '93 Cab in Horizon Blue Metallic (34 imported to North America) with a cashmere/black interior is also 1 of 1.  Tahoe will be a blast.  Do we have a head count?  Any info on the fun run course yet?

We're getting close on nailing down the drives with a whole lotta help from MCL968 and Tahoe968.

We'll have to get the "one-on-a-kinds" together for a photo.

I'll have to check on the firm headcount, I know some people haven't made hotel reservations under the "Porsche" code yet. And I hear from a lot of people that aren't sure yet.

The beat goes on.

Porsche code was not available when I made my reservations....delta was like $40, so I just went ahead and made them.

Anybody else have problems using that code for their reservations at the lower rates?

I tried today to make a reservation at the Park Tahoe Inn. I just hung up speaking with the General Manager. The Park Tahoe inn is closing for a large renovation in April and they are merging with another hotel company. They are NOT TAKING ANY RESERVATIONS for July. So where are we going to be able to make a reservation at a lower rate. I also asked if they possible had taken reservation thru on line booking an the general manager claims all possibilities were blocked. He did say I could call in June or July to see if by then they were open for business.

I'll contact the hotel tomorrow and find out what's up, that's the first I've heard about a closing.  I'll report back tomorrow.  Thanks.

Nothing here makes sense. I have my confirmation confirmed for the 968 Park Hotel. I think you called the wrong Park. Check again.

BTW: It's not the Park Tahoe Inn

There is a Park Tahoe, actually. That is the hotel adjacent to the 968 Park that is owned by the same company. It offers slightly lower rates and has more rooms. William, that may be where the confusion lies. I'll check tomorrow. Good to know the 968 Park is onboard. I'll sleep better tonight now.

I'm so programmed to do everything online that I did not think to call. They have the discount in their system when you call but she was a bit confused. She gave me a price of $194 initially. I told her that online the rooms were $199 for the King. She then adjusted the price to $160.69. This is for a king bed, not queen. She told me that queen size rooms are not on the "Porsche 968 car club" discount. I'm all set for July 8 and 9.

I am not confused.

The 968 Park Tahoe is open but they charge a higher rate. The other hotel The Park Tahoe Inn is the one that is closing. This is the one that was to have lower room rates than the 968 Park Tahoe. I personally am happy with lower rates and less amenities which is why I tried to make a reservation there.

Just got off the phone with the sales manager, Ted.  The Park Tahoe is closed right now undergoing renovations. The Park Tahoe was set up as a lower priced option than the 968 Park. It will be brought up to the same level as the 968 Park, and priced the same as the 968 Park.  Target opening is July 1st but they aren't booking people in there just it case it is late. So, Ted is contacting a couple of neighboring properties for the budget option.  I will have info on that shortly and will get it posted.  Thanks, Williamoss, for letting me know about this so I can it get sorted out. Ryker, they do have you booked under the group discount rate, same with Kaj and Jay..  And the others as well. What would be an event without a few "oops"?

Anyone thinking about going needs to get their reservations made asap, The hotel is selling out.

OK, sorry for the OT, Bill's car is 1 of 1 by virtue of the color and interior combination, not C2S...

Back to our regularly scheduled program.

I thought about doing the Tahoe run, but its too hot in early July, the water is way to icey,  I don't like being held hostage to a casino, and the crowds are too much. I have an aversion to crowds, its become chronic as I've aged. My preference would be North Shore, Cal-Neva lodge (they've got nice little bungalows or did have...) not to mention the obligatory Casino and Bar in-house. Earliest would be September, preferably after the kids have gone back to school. North Shore has some amenities like grocery stores, the Truckee river for a bar-b-que, campgrounds all along the river, and rafting, and there's Kings Beach for local food, and the Hyatt "Castle" on the Nevada side, and its not as crowded.  The water is bearable, it takes almost all summer to get it that way, that lake is fricking deep.  Used to have dives there for beer, a guy would throw them out of a boat and about 20-30 feet down you'd try to catch them (with tanks and gear of course). The roads can be very crowded in the summer its gotten worse over the years. If it sounds like I'm picking, I am, no offense to whomever is coordinating.
