william - as it states clearly at the top of the page, az968 started the thread, not you.  it's his thread and his event.  decisions have been made.  it's inappropriate to step in afterward and armchair quarterback.  as somebody who has put together a LOT of 968 events, i certainly could have done that, but i'm not going to.  i'm glad somebody is taking up the baton and doing this.  rather than poke holes in the plans, i think everyone would be better served by just letting him plan it, and thank him for it.

 

there is a chance my blue car might show up with its new owner.  i'd love to see somebody show up as a new owner in the black car too.

I don't mind questions and suggestions. My goal is to make this an enjoyable event for everyone and I do want to find ways to accommodate as many people's needs as I can, the more people that come the merrier. I know I will miss something and there will be lots of good ideas for the next event. While I'm the guy that kicked off this thread and event, it's certainly not a solo run:-)

 

Flash, I hope both your cars do show up, I'd love to see the blue car esp. We might even find a parking spot for your Targa if you can make it.

Jay, there's a 968 Turbo that won LeMans for sale in Portland you could pick up and drive down, check Craigslist

um - to my knowledge no 968 (turbo or otherwise) ever won le mans.  there was one that competed once, but it did not finish.

 

i can't find the ad either.  that would be interesting to see

still struggling with our own schedule, but as for the other cars, i'll work on it.  could be fun to see it in action with somebody else behind the wheel.

thanks.  i figured it was this car.  it says that it is a replica of the car that was raced in le mans.  looks like it is the white car that has been for sale for a long time now, with no buyer.

 

nowhere near a replica.  just a turbo conversion.  i've seen it.  not a lot of attention to detail.

I am in and booked. Bringing my 1 of 1 1994 968 cabriolet in Amethyst Metallic. (Only 6 true 94's where in C2S colors and only one in Amethyst) This should be fun and I hope to see your cars and meet with all you 968 owners. Tahoe is stunning in the summer. Expecting snow on the peaks as well.

So I'll be driving my 1 of 1 Gran Prix White with classic grey script seats coupe. Course by the time I get to SoLT it will all be classic grey exterior, thus the wash area 😆

lol - i've crammed V8s into both of those.  talk about the red-headed step child.

 

it's always interesting to se what rentals show up with the guys who fly in from a distance.  i'm just amazed and pleased that i'm not the only one to fly in to these things.

Jay, you can rent an exotic car in Las Vegas, probably also in Reno, so you might find your yellow corvette there.

Been there, done that...Rico and I were the perpetrators of the Yellow Corvette fiasco, after Flash "Pushed his way into" the pictures in Hershey with a Boxster...(actually, he didn't, but that's a tale for another day).

 

In 2013, we had the good taste to at least show up in German cars

LOL, I was supposed to have a Camaro SS and those jerks at Hertz LAX messed up my reservation, so I ended up with the MB 350E Convertible after I called Hertz headquarters and raised hell. Hertz at LAX is the worst travel experience I have ever, ever had...
