I am hoping I can attend the gathering. Unfortunately I am in the lousy position of having an upcoming major surgery, of removing my Right Kidney, due to a large cyst that has grown in the center of the kidney. Until they remove the kidney they cannot tell me if I have cancer or not. And until my body heals from the surgery, I cannot commit to coming to the event. I wish this was not so as I was looking forward to meeting all the people who make this great web site what it is. I enjoy reading all the comments and have learned a great deal from all the information. It has also allowed me to get items fixed on my 968 that I would never have know about before they broke.

Fri - $152.15
Sat - $169.15
Sun - $169.15, plus taxes.
If you want to extend a few days, the rate will be $109.
S. Lake Tahoe is a great place to visit, and several of our local forum members are designing some great drives! It should be a great weekend!
Dan, the Amalfi coast is beautiful, but I didn't see a single 968 there😊

Has anyone contacted the Better Business Bureau to advise you what Hotels have 24 hour dining, at a rate of around $10 a night separate parking hose bob, etc.. The BBB is there for that purpose. The way I see it everyone has there own opinion of what is correct.

I would suggest that the hotel be in the $120 a night range. Perhaps another hotel near by that cost $500 a night for those with deep pockets, and all the extras you get with a $500 a night could be there.

let's not get into micro-managing somebody else's event. the hotel has been chosen. use it or don't. not sure what we're doing yet, but standard rooms are a hard sell for us, and while the coffee pub might be open 24hrs, the site doesn't say if they serve food 24 hrs, and i don't think there is any room service, which is a deal breaker for us most of the time.
i'll keep looking. still not even sure we have the dates open. way too far out for that for us. we usually jump last minute for weekend stuff like this.

Hey Flash I was not micro managing, I read the last page and saw many comment regarding the hotel issue. Thinking that the hotel was still up in the air I put out some ideas. And since I was the one who started this tread and others have put in more comments than I have I stepped aside. No big deal.

There was a fair amount of dialog on the hotel. I didn't want to go high end, since my pocketbook can't handle that.. For Tahoe, this is mid to low-mid pricing (Fri-Sun night ave $143), and they have an adjacent hotel that will come in at the $110 rate (see below), so that seems to cover all the price points, except the higher-end expectations. Property isn't as nice, but next door so easy for everyone to join in. Car wash area will be available.
No room service yet, but they have arrangements with local restaurants for delivery. No 24 hr bar, but we have a large suite, with outdoor patio, that will be fine for late night conversations and scotch/wine tastings. My wife already knows she's not getting much sleep :-)
Still nailing down the drive routes, but there are several great ones to chose from. Have a great place for group dinner Sat night (Italian, sorry haven't found German yet), would like some thoughts on Sat morning tech session in the conference room. Was hoping DS968 could demo an engine rebuilt :-)
Park Tahoe Inn Single King Rooms:
Sunday-Thursday (Non Holiday):
$69 for Park Tahoe Inn
$109 for 968 Park
Friday: $109 for Park Tahoe Inn
$152.15 at 968 Park
Saturday: $119 for Park Tahoe Inn
$169.15 at 968 Park

Maybe we should start a collection fund and make a large donation to the local Police Benevolent fund, to avoid getting tickets on our merry drives around the windy roads.

I would not have driven THAT 968 to the gathering anyway ..it would be like wearing a pair of old sneakers to your school reunion when you have a pair of bespoke shoes just sitting in the closet, lol. So the BB ( brilliant blue ) 968 would have been the choice driver for the event. Much better preserved, considerably faster, upgraded suspension and of course stick shif so tons more fun to drive and a "demo" car for sure . But if you really wanna see a shining sample of what a stunning 968 can look like, wait for Trevor to show up in his..
