From the moment the 944 made its debut in the of Autumn 1981, it was an instant success. The second generation 968 continued an almost constant evolution. When production ceased in 1995, combined 944/968 production totaled some 188,000, making them – at the time – Porsche's most successful model family ever. The secret of that success is a unique combination of vibrant performance with everyday practicality. This Ultimate Buyers' Guide introduces all the 944 and 968 model types, describing the technical specifications, vehicle identification data, performance, colors and options. Using color photography of the cars and many actual problem areas, we introduce each model and what to look for when choosing and buying a used example.

Okay - Really $4600.00 for a 968 book - Can they be serious?

Only if the shipping is free !! Oh, and also if the book is gift wrapped...inside the glove compartment of a real 968 that should come with it. But then again, that's just me - different folks, different take on what any given item is worth to them ; someone who collects rare books and also happens to be a 968 fanatic may think nothing of spending that kind of money on this book, yet would not pay more than $ 50 for a watch, while some of us spend more money on those than on a car...but there's a whole other thread dedicated to that topic, lol.

This is ridiculous. Just sayin.
I tried to buy a copy of Mortal Error the other day form Amazon about the JFK assassination. They were as high as $1100! I found one on Abebooks, first edition, first printing with a dust jacket for $25 bucks.
I chatted up amazon and they said to put up a review and where I found it. They don't like dealers price gouging.
