I started my stereo install post, put a few images up, then posted it, then responded to my post (so I could put more images up), did this one more time, a total of about 8 images in three posts, but the software merged all of my replies to my first post and then gave me the message: Sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to

How many are you allowed to post? I'm not going to upload them here, I already have them hosted. Would like to share my install with others as there are almost no pictures of stereo installs on this forum. Figured I would help out and post lots of details and pictures.

Help????

it's not normally a number of images issue, as you are allowed 10 per post. normally it's a total size issue, as well as a timing thing. you are limited to 2200k total per post. if you post again within 3 minutes, it will merge your posts.

I'm not sure what if mean by posted if they are hosted somewhere else...that would be a no-no, since we want all 968Forums content encapsulated here, on this site.

Good to know about the 3 minute thing. I wondered why it did that. Thanks!

Did the filesize limit (both limit for a single picture, and limit for total attachment size) change recently?    Looks like the limit is 500k total...?

MIGHT be able to get 1 relatively low quality pic, but nothing more.      I like to post my DIY efforts to benefits others, but this is a bit of a blocker.

OK, thanks - I knew I had posts with 4-5 pictures before and hadn't run into this issue - when I started posting something yesterday, my first (of 4-5 pictures) was 350k or so.   I thought maybe something had changed, and when I looked in this thread and saw flash's post (granted, from WAY back in 2003) stating the limit was 2200k, I was curious if there had been a change.

I'll just be sure to compress/lower resolution of pics to get them into a post when needed.

Well, a result the Covid SIP of four + months, in constant proximity of my refrigerator, I certainly won’t be able to meet the photo size restrictions if I attempt to post a picture of myself now...even using the sizing feature to reduce it.  :(

Good to know I’m in “ good company “.     Or does the saying go :   “ misery loves company “  ?  :(

Back on the real topic,  I’d say out of the photos I post ( not the number of them in a post , usually two is the max for me ) I have to use the sizing feature to reduce about one out of every three I attempt to post , and I have no clue why some are “ too big “ and others aren’t - always the same camera, same pixels , etc.
