lol - if we were really into this (and it would have to be serious), we could bring a very small PA of sorts. i have most of what we need (board, mics, cables, and even a small set of powered speakers). i also have a couple of keyboards, a guitar, and a drum machine

of course, this would be difficult to carry in the cab, as i would like to make room for the wine. tough call

A jam would be a blast. I can bring a guitar. I really don't think we need a PA just to sit around and do some acoustic pickin' and strummin'. Flash can save that space to fill up with wine for the ride home. Anyone else in?

lol - no worries. not sure the hotel would dig that much anyway. i wish i had some small percussion instrument though. i sold my congas and gave away my drum set (huge mistake, given the history of the kit) many many moons ago.

i'm up for a jam. can probably fit an acoustic in the trunk with a small roland travel amp...but that means no room for all the scotch.

was also thinking how 'bout a BYOB scotch tasting this year?

Forget instruments if if will compromise Scotch tasting. We can all just hum a little  BYOS sounds good!

My drum kit is only slightly smaller than the Starship Enterprise, and shipping it to California would cost more than shipping *me* to California! :D

Scotch will have to a surprise when I get there. The booze taxes here are so much higher than in CA that it would be silly to buy ahead of time.

yeah, and you can hit "ibpesq" over the head with them if he starts playing anything on that guitar that even remotely sounds like a grateful dead tune .. <_< :P

I'm not checking luggage, and they won't let me on a plane with drum sticks, guaranteed. :glare:

It is rumored that Lbpesq 's 968 hood resonates like a Zildjian if struck hard enough (especially on Dead tunes)

Hey wait, didn't we already cover everything that could possibly be said about bands, singers, etc on the music thread just a little while ago ? :-). :-)

@ tama - I wonder if drum sticks would indeed be banned ?! Anyone has the TSA list handy ? ( although I do recall when looking at the prohibited items list the last time, there was a statement to the effect of. " and/ or any other items which in the opinion of the TSA agent may be deemed prohibited ". sweeping clause.. :-(
