My 968 is all back together now and I drove it to work today. Engine is running better than ever and this trip will be the first test of post top-end rebuild oil consumption. :)

Also, condolences to Bill and his friend.

Holy crap I thought this was last weekend. Was toying with the idea of coming up for the fun run - glad I did not. I cleaned and worked on teh car instead. It's all shiny down in the parking garage :)

All right. Safely ensconced in Santa Barbara and meeting up with Brian And Robin for dinner. Man is the weather nice. For all you hardcore 968 ers, the best I was able to do was rent a new Boxster. So in the interest of time and efficiency, make your comments now and free up time for more conversation in Paso. DS your up!! Lol

Well, at least don a big-haired wig and get some ink on your ass. If you're going to drive a hair-dresser's car, you might as well look the part!

Some rubber components replaced (bought them three years ago - needed an event like this to get motivated!)

Even managed to book some spa time for Darlene today yet (I had held off because of my mother's health situation)

Plan to hit the road tomorrow afternoon at 5 and drive to Portland (5 hours). Thursday drive to San Francisco (12 hours). Friday morning to Paso (3 hours). That's the plan...

He beat me to it, dang it ! Eh, just get a tramp stamp ( a butterfly, maybe ) and be done with it, LOL. However, if they gave you the most recent model I must say I do like the changes they made quite a bit..it lost a lot of that chick-mobile character, and is ALMOST respectable ..

Once again my mechanic pulled a rabbit out of the hat. Got my car running at 6 pm today and drove it 105 km home. Ran beautifully so far; idle is a bit high but I can live with that. Just a few pieces to put back together tomorrow and we should be set.

Pull the throttle cable off the wheel and start up the car, if the idle goes down then the cable is to tight.

Bay area dudes and dudettes : we're probably leaving San Carlos around 11 am, driving down 280 to 85 to 101 and so on from there.. If anyone is leaving Friday around that same timeline and want to convoy down, let me know and we'll synch the meeting place.. Safe travels everyone, look forward to meeting all in PR

similarly, i am working out my exit time right now. i plan to arrive in paso about 2:30, so that i can go and rent the car for saturday, and get back to the hotel, get checked in, and then set up for the meet and greet at 4.

so, if we plan to caravan, the only route that works is 101. i think that puts me leaving my house at about 9:30, and passing by lax at about 11, and then into the valley at about 11:30, and then santa barbara about 12:30. anybody who want to join up along the way, contact me for more specifics.

Dan, I'm thinking about leaving the same time. I was thinking about stopping at a winery or two on the way, but the ones I want to go to are just a little too much out of the way. Depending on when I arrive in Paso I might check out a couple on Friday afternoon.

Shall we meet at the usual place?

DS - We are planning to stay in the Bay area on Thursday night and the ~11 am departure time seams agreeable, so I will PM you my cell number. We might hook up and meet Rap on the way.

Rap - Just checked Google maps and saw that Carmel is on the way from the Bay area to Paso. I will PM you my cell # so we can touch base Thursday evening.
