All set. It's parked in the garage with the battery tender on it.

Hoping to fire up my 968 this weekend. It's been 2 months since I've driven it. :(

* Filed for a new passport yesterday and payed and extra $30 to get it by next Monday.
* Changed the oil last night (need to get the Canton canister system someday!)
* Booked the Parking Brake repair for Monday (do not have enough time to tackle it before Paso - price of procrastination!)
* Booked tire swap for Tuesday
* Booked hotel for Wednesday night in Portland (will start driving after work that day = ~4.5 hours)

But... first will have to see how mom is doing on Friday (fly to Winnipeg this Thursday night). She has been in the hospital for the past five days...

Hope your Mom is feeling better! I've got a Dad that has an upcoming event that is potentially deadly. Sort of knocks one off their stride.

at the behest of dan, whose sensitive constitution cringed at the thought of low 80s temps, i have put in and been granted my request for slightly lower temps. they are now projected to be in the mid to upper 70's. the tradeoff though was the night temps are also going to be lower.

Just came back from visiting Mom in the hospital and she is doing much better. She is being discharged later today or tomorrow.

With that worry put aside... Paso here we come!

Cooler nights are what scotch and cigars thrive in.

being just days away now, thought I would remind all that this year's scotch tasting is a BABTS (bring a bottle to share) event.

We have averaged about 4 cigar aficionados at prior meets - this year I'm bringing six stogies to share( all I have left at the moment ) so it'll be on a first come first served basis. For those of you that love smokey scotch I'm also bringing a bottle of Mezcal, which makes the smokiest of scotches by comparison taste as an ultra-light menthol cigarette smoked trough one of those roaring twenties foot-long filters used by the ladies of tne era, LOL. So I,m bringing the bottle as a barter item for some scotch tasting :-)

Very reluctantly I have to cancel my trip to Paso this year. One of my closest friends I've known since 8th grade passed away yesterday, so I will be flying east to attend his funeral. I have a room reserved at the hotel. If anyone wants it, let me know in the next 24 hours. Otherwise I will cancel the reservation tomorrow (Monday) at the end of the day. You all have a great time, wish I and my bottle of scotch could join you. Maybe Flash will reconsider and do this again next year?

Bill

Sorry I have been quiet for the last week but I just got home yesterday from the hospital where my wife was threatened with open heart surgery. We escaped with 3 stents and hopefully some luck that they won't be rejected. That being said she can not leave the country so I will be bringing my 26 year old Porsche freak son.
Tried to get my engine finished today but we discovered the main SC belt had been damaged by some oil causing swelling of the ribs. A new one is 2 days away so Tuesday will be the deal breaker if the engine doesn't start readily.
Nothing like driving 2500 km on an engine that hasn't been broken in properly.
Signed up for BCAA, premium plan ;-)

mrmister drove all the way from pennsylvania to california on a new engine. other than an oil change, which you could get done along the way, there is no reason to think you should have any issues if it starts and runs for 100 miles.
