Thanks guys. Yea, we love them. The wife was into ferrets for about 9 years. Man I hated those rats. I am much happier with the kittehs.

I know a forum member that was into gerbils. Oh wait, that was vice-versa. :-) :-). ( and this post probably belongs with the other thread were we're talking about " two guys in a cab syndrome " and such..)

Well, I think it depends on the two guys...I am not exactly a creampuff type so I doubt someone would ask my orientation towards certain things, lol.
I have a best friend who is really jealous of my car and can't wait to go for a drive.
When I bought the car, and it was in the shop, when I would talk to him it was "How is the Porsche?"
Then after a few calls with that, it turned into "How is our Porsche?"
Then after a few calls it was "How is my Porsche?" so I have to take him out in it, comments aside, so he can live vicariously...
He is my best friend and probably the only one I have locally.

50 Rats ?! That one I have difficulty grasping .. I get that rats have a right to live just as any other creatures do, but 50 Rats as PETS ?! That's definitely ...different .

Ferrets are not rats, they are mammals. Its like stoats and weasels, a weasel is a furry creature and a stoat is stoately different.

Last time I checked, rats were mammals too.

In my mind, they were rats...anything that climbs into your dresser drawer or onto my camera bag and takes a dump is a rat in my book!

Raccoons ( and even Bears ! ) could be rats, LOL. Well, bears won't fit in a camera bag but they'll crap on it after they steal stuff from you.. Just as raccoons will..if you leave your doors open that is :-)

I have two feral cats I feed in my yard, the parents of three of my indoor cats. Racoons that come into my yard usually have a short life expectancy especially if they appear to have some sort of distemper or appear rabid.

I hear they're very smart and have a good memory, a BB gun may do the trick with serious enough bruising which will probably make them never return..then again I haven't tested that theory with the raccoons that show up in our yard occasionally , so maybe your "terminating" them is the only solution.. You related to Ted Nugent by any chance ?, LOL I can just see all those mounted raccoon heads on the garage walls staring down at the 968 :/)

I said they have a short life expectancy - I never said I eat them or mount their heads on the garage wall = lol
