I was planning on coming but it turns out I have to work this weekend. Somehow every time an event is planned, I have to work that weekend.

Have fun guys!

But there is some strange looking 968 in the view of the camera?

Haven't moved that out of the corner yet since there are no 968s here.......that's my current long term project -fixing and finishing the painter's job from a 1998 respray that has the top coat of clear all crinkled and nasty. The whole car is getting clear coat leveled, compounded, then polished.

also up and running, though i am still 2 hours from anybody getting here

daryl, or anybody else thinking about doing this, if you have never buffed a fiberglass car before, especially the older ones, do it slowly. they are really touchy about heat buildup

Should I be logging in to a link somewhere? Is there a webcam going like last year?

You can fix ignorance with education, but there ain't no fix for stupid.

Just checked in on the West Coast detail day...
This is a tough day to juggle...
* installing wall tiles in the bathroom earlier on and need to get back to it soon...
* watching the UEFA Champions League FINAL beyween Chelsea and Bayern Munich...
* watching the 968 detail day on the West Coast. The East Coast is either "done" or the image is "frozen" for me...
* noticed the SII wheels on the red coupe being detailed at FLash's place! I am about to post a picture I took yesterday of my 968 with SII wheels...

We had a nice little turn out here on the East Coast. Greg (BeBe) joined us and got to see the underside of his car, got his screw holes filled, adjusted the taillights, and some other general tinkering. Jay (94SilverCab) got his D1R heat shield installed (thanks Tomas) and new bulb for his temperature display (hooray for me), and a mini-detail for his clean ride home. Ron (Cosimo) got a wash and tried out a few other products, and Tomas (IndischRot968) joined us as well.

Thanks to all for coming out. Stay tuned to this forum for hopefully an announcement about a fall event hosted here at my place/Northern VA that will enable us to draw owner's and cars from both North and South!

had a ball. 968TDG popped up with his red car to "get 'er done". bva was gracious enough to come down from santa barbara. i had a great time, as i did not have to do much work, other than provide stuff and cook lunch. lovely day. my wife came home from tokyo mid day and even she had a pleasant afternoon. couldn't have gone better.

Thanks Darryl. It was great meeting some of the East Coast forum regulars. Thanks for the use of the shop and test drive of the detailing products. My car has never looked better. Not looking forward to it getting dirty again, but when it does, I'm ready.

Thanks BVA and Flash...I can't get over how fantastic the car looks...it literally looks new. I had no idea it was possible to restore the paint to such a degree...I was hoping for improvement, but what we ended up with is stunning. As that kid said best, "Gotta keep it fresh, that thing is sick!"

Hey everyone,

Sorry, have been too busy driving to post. :)

It was great to meet some new friends (BeBe and Tomas) and to see Cosimo and Darryl of course.

I'm so proud of my car again! Adam's products are absolutely the best and easiest products to work with, I couldn't believe my eyes.

To start with, my wheel wells have been black since the first day I bought the car. Just a few sprays of APC and wait 2 minutes...boom, my wheel wells are body color, I swear I never knew.

Darryl showed me all the products for my car from wash to APC to the in & Out spray sealant to glass cleaner and sealant...I'm hooked.

I rolled out with enough product to stock my own store and even bought some detail spray for my friends, who will also be ordering shortly.

Special thanks to Darryl who finally replaced that outside air temp bulb and to Tomas who layed Porsche Mechanic and installed my heat shield.

Regards,

Jay

Man that red car looks marvelous. Jay your right about Adams! Liz asked me to help her clean her car and she raved about the APC. Now she wants me to show her how to clay, wax and polish. That's what the garage is for of course. Vino, cigars and brilliant cars. Ahhhhhh

lol - i hardly even do my own car, let alone somebody else's. i generally pay people to do that.

phil - it was cool to see just how much of a change there was. the pics don't do it justice. it came in very faded and oxidized. it went out all spanky shiny.

cool stuff.

Just make sure to seal up that single stage Guards Red and keep a coat of wax on top to prevent the oxidation from coming back. I did Tomas' Coupe about a year ago and it still was nice and shiny when he rolled up Saturday morning.

Also, just a reminder, anybody placing an order for Adam's goodies from their website, be sure to use the code "968forums" at checkout. If it doesn't work, please let me know right away so I can get in touch with them. If you're here on the east coast, get in touch with me and although I can't ship free, I can probably get product to you quicker than shipping from warehouse in Boulder, CO.

very impressed with the Adams product line. Phil's car started out more like guards pink...ran the gamut with the porter cable - severe swirl remover, swirl and haze remover, fine machine polish, machine super sealant, then a top coat of buttery wax. a quick pass with VRT on the window seals and the red is poppin' way sick.
